My bags were packed! Some of you may have heard that Google (Blogger) sent out e-mails last month announcing they were getting rid of porn. As of March 23rd, adult sites were all at risk. Porn however, was not really able to be identified meaning art blogs, erotica or any expressions of sexuality were all at risk of being wiped off the face of the net, on blogger anyway. I began scouting for a new home for FH, but my heart wasn't in it. Change sucks, and the thought of moving all of the content, or starting new was a bit overwhelming. I went back and forth on whether to move, or just let let FH come to a close. Thankfully, I did not have to come to a decision as Google changed their mind. There was a public outcry and adult blogs are staying...hopefully for good. I must say, I despite the stress they evoked, I do respect the response from blogger, not just because they listened, but because they really listened.
'We've had a ton of feedback, in particular about the introduction of a retroactive change (some people have had accounts for 10+ years), but also about the negative impact on individuals who post sexually explicit content to express their identities.'
FH is more than a series of images, many of which are not necessarily adult or sexual. FH is for me, a creative expression of what you not only see, but what you read, and hopefully what you sometimes feel. I never thought of it as part of my identity, but given the time and passion I have put into FH over the last eight plus years, I cannot deny it's effect. I am relieved my expressions, and your response to them, may continue.
