After all, Sexxx Sells...
Skyylerhouse
Life has a clear and distinct rhythm and I believe the most successful people are the ones able to keep in sync with what is going on around them. When someone is struggling, in any area of their life really, it is usually because they can't seem to keep up with the beat that is pulsating in, and all around them. Even when you can't see it, it it is there and can be felt. Talented artists can make you feel it, even within a still, and silent image.
The best musicians have an intrinsic ability to connect with the rhythm and pulse of life and transferring it through their music. It has been my experience many photographers who are also musicians, have the ability to translate this movement, the throbbing beat within their imagery. Don't ask me exactly how, but when spending time with the work of photographer DeRon Chris Reed, aka Skyylerhouse, there is a powerfully erotic and palpable energy.
As a child DeRon Chris Reed had an immediate attraction to fashion, music and images that made a statement. Paying special attention to album covers, styling, imaging, photography and art direction he began to develop a strong eye.
Collecting vinyl records of his favorite musical artists he, a singer himself, honed his passion into a record deal and has performed at numerous events. However, it was his stunning looks and runway physic (as you can see from the first two images at the top of this post) that put him in demand as a model booking such campaigns as Vapor Air, Canvas Rags and March Michard among other notable clients including a feature in Playgirl magazine.
Although still highly in demand in front of the camera, DeRon has parlayed his talents and visual genius into photography. "You can't model until you're 100 years old, but you can take pictures forever" Says Reed. DeRon has developed a style of image taking which channels his own pure passions and energy for the craft into a style that's instantly recognizable. An expression in detail, with a sharp, bold, intense look through the eyes and energy of the man behind the lens.
Whenever I profile a photographer who also models, it is interesting to see the difference and parallels between what they present in front of the lens, and their vision when behind it. LeRon has been shot by many famous photographers, including one of my favorites, Zedneram. I love that as an photographer, LaRon is able to capture and bring out the same raw erotic energy that he exudes so beautifully as a model.
