In America, actors who excel on stage with a particular role, rarely get the chance to play that character on film. Sometimes, it is a question of timing, a movie is made years after a stage show closes. Most often, like the case of Meryl Streep taking over from Bernadette Peters in Into The Woods, money is at the heart of casting decisions.
Stage:El principi d'Arquimedes (2012)
Thankfully however, exceptions sometimes occur. Spanish actor Rubén De Eguia first played Jordi in a 2012 of El principi d'Arquimedes at the Grec 2012 Festival de Barcelona. A few years later director Ventura Pons cast Rubén in the 2015 film version, El virus de la por. I have not seen the film, released last month, but hopefully it will make it's way on-line or on DVD very soon.
