In the first two books of the series, most of the male skin came from Patrick Swayze (Orry Main). By Book III however, Swayze was gone so James, and new co-star Kyle Chandler were able to remove their uniforms for a scene or two.

James Read: Familiar Faces

There's a familiar face in Salem. Not a new face really, his character was introduced earlier this year. I haven't been a regular watcher of NBC's Days Of Our Lives lately, but I was sure I knew that face while watching the character of Clyde Weston on a recent viewin.

He's a little older, but I have always been a fan of actor James read. Talented and engaging and well, that incredible face. Those twinkling eyes, that great hair and that smile which melts. Read has been a regular fixture on TV and in movies since I can remember. Starting in the Eighties on Remington Steele and continuing in with regular roles on Shell Game, Charmed, American Dreams and on screen in Eight Men Out and Beaches to name just a couple of his big screen roles.

Most of us remember Read however from his role of George Hazzard in each of the three North & South mini series instalments. Read went on to marry his North & South co-star Wendy Kilbourne. In real life, Read is the father of three. On Days Of Our Lives, he is the father of Ben, (Robert Scott Wilson) and for many of us, James is the epitome of a DILF.

Enthralled: Ruben M by Covet Image

'When I saw Ray's work, I was immediately enthralled and knew he was the photographer I needed to work with!'

Enthralled is the perfect adjective to describe how I felt when first seeing Ray Golm's images of Ruben M. I was fortunate to discover Ray's (Covetimage) work last fall and his work with Ruben is the fifth of hopefully many shoots I have had the pleasure to feature. Ray's work just keeps getting better and better and I am always amazed that no matter who he is shooting, whether a body builder or a dancer, Ray manages to zero in on what makes them captivating and unique.

24 year old Chicago model Ruben M says it has sometimes been a struggle to find photographers to shoot with in Chicago, so was thrilled that after he e-mailed Ray, they set up a shoot. Ruben definitely has an spectacular body, one created from his passion for dance. Ray had always wanted to shoot with a saturated white background and Ruben proved the perfect model, with the white beautifully highlighting Ruben's arms, legs, stomach and chest muscles. 'His lean, muscular physique pops against the bright white background. The bright blue swimsuit adds the only punch of color.

Ray didn't just focus on the obvious though, in addition to Ruben's physique, Ray brilliantly brought out so many other facets of his personality. Ray describes Ruben as a 'master of emotions' which certainly came through loud and clear in the final images. With each look and prop, whether it be the summer hat, Ruben transforms into a completely new character, still showing off his lean muscular frame, but with different emotions and degree's of attitude.

Ruben's face and eyes are so expressive, sometimes sultry and serious, other times fun and playful. Ray says that although Ruben's physique certainly demanded attention, it was his facial expressions that really excited him about their work together. Capturing different looks and emotions ended up being the fun part, but Ray knew his main goal was to capture Ruben's amazing anatomy. 'Ruben's physique has been developed, in part, to his formal dance background. I wanted to capture the beauty of his form in this image. The lines of his silhouette are long and graceful, like a performance.'

'Ray is not only one of the best photographers I've worked with, but a phenomenal person. He makes me feel super comfortable and was ready and prepared. He had everything ready when I got there, even things I needed but forgot to mention! I'm happy to say that I laughed a lot during the shoot, and he was OK with it! :)'

I have often written of my love of featuring dancers. The video below, from Ruben's YouTube page, from a 2013 shoot, demonstrates beautifully why.

'At the end of the shoot, Ruben wanted to do a little showing off. Using just his upper-body strength, he lifted and balanced his frame into various poses. It was truly amazing to see and document.'

Johnny Carson

I was a bit young to catch much of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, I saw a few of his final episodes, and many bits on Youtube. My few memories of his tenor are mostly dedicated to the few episodes I begged to stay up and watch when Joan Rivers was guest hosting. With the recent news that Antenna T V was going to begin airing his old episodes, I dug up a folder I had started awhile ago dedicated to the hotness on late night TV.

Problem was, there wasn't always much hotness going on after Prime Time. I never took to Leno and don't believe I watched even one episode of his time on The Tonight Show. Something about him turned me off, he seems like a nice enough guy, but there was something sort of 'old' about his comedy, even when he was younger. But with Letterman's retirement this past May, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert saying good bye to their shows (although Colbert will be back on CBS) seemed a good time to revive the story idea.

Jay Leno

David Letterman

Hunting for a shirtless Letterman wasn't easy, but the net is full of surprises. Letterman was my late night TV, through High School, University and beyond. I got to one taping when in New York in 2005 with Gwyneth Paltrow as the main guest.

Arsenio Hall

I think if Arsenio had made all his guests go shirtless as he did with Van Damme, he might still be on the air.

Conan O'Brien

Stephen Colbert

I didn't know how much I loved Stephen Colbert until seeing him singing and dancing with Martha Plimpton in Company.

Jimmy Fallon

James Corden

Jimmy Kimmel

Unplanned Nakedness: Mark Elbus by Bodyworks Studio

'Being nude in front of a strange person is always a bit nerve-wracking, but also new and always different. Even after 20 years I feel vulnerable every time I take off my clothes again for a shoot.'

It is always interesting when I begin a profile to learn the image preferences of the model. Although many models trust me to choose my favorite images, some have specific wishes. Many request I not use full frontal images, which of course I respect. Although many male models pose for full nudes, they try to limit them to their on-line portfolios to reduces the likelihood of them being spread and shared from tumblr to tumblr.

Other times, there are models that not only want their frontals included, but hope that I'll use the most explicit and graphic shots in their port. Mark Elbus is one of those models. It's not that Mark is overly cocky about his body or his images, it is more personal for him. Taking it all off didn't initially come easy, and given how difficult it was to make the choice, and how nervous he still gets taking it all off, he bloody well wants them to be shown, shared and enjoyed.

Mark's journey into modeling began close to 20 years ago when he moved to Berlin. In the 90's, the city provided countless opportunities to take it all off for German artists who were always shooting nudes within abandoned old places, strange lost buildings, train stations and other forgotten and run down area's of the city. Getting naked wasn't originally in the plan however, but Mark got to know a well known photographer, who then was just beginning his career. During their first shoot together he suddenly turned to Mark, and without any warning, asked the young model if he would take off his clothes.

'I started to strip down and it just felt great! I noticed that I really like to pose in front of the camera. Some of these pictures were later published in the photographer's first photo-art-book and caused me to garner some attention in German publications.'

With all of that initial attention, Mark quickly connected with other photographers and began expanding his portfolio to include art/fashion and portrait shots. When the Internet really took off in the 90's, Mark started working with agencies and focusing on fashion, but shows and editorial work. This however, never satisfied him the way shooting nudes did, it could not compete with the enticement and element of risk he had previously experienced. 'I wanted to have fun while shooting in my free-time! Never again this boring fashion- or catalogue-stuff!'

10 years ago, Mark began a new job which took him all over the world. During his time in the US, he had some great times working with among others; Rick Day, David Vance, Michael Stokes and Louis LaSalle. Mark became keenly aware of the differences in attitude and culture with his US shoots which Mark experiences as being on a much larger scale and more serious than his work in Germany. Three years ago, Mark connected with Bodyworks Studio in Long Beach. He found that concerning photography, art and style, they were on the same page. Given his experience with nudes, Mark was looking to push his comfort level, moving to the next step in creating erotic visuals. Mark was proud of the results, the energy and the how far he has come, especially with his comfort level in front of the camera. So comfortable in fact, I saved a few of the shots for The FH Over-Flow.

Actor and director Peter Berg found himself in a bit of trouble last month with his comments (and meme) about Caitlyn Jenner's Courage Award. Although I don't think Berg made the best decision with the meme, nor his choice of words, I got exactly where he was coming from. Berg, as I figured he would, went on to write a pretty decent apology as well as passionate cry to draw more attention to or war veterans.

Seeing Berg in the headlines reminded me how much I loved him when I was growing up. In the 90's, Berg was apart of several movies I really loved including Late For Dinner and his turn as the loveable loser in Aspen Extreme with actor Paul Gross. Who could forget his memorable naked wash room walk after having sex with Linda Fiorentino in 1994's The Last Seduction.

Berg went to becoming a regular for a few seasons on Chicago Hope before turning mostly to writing and directing. Some of Berg's most notable turns as director included; Friday Night Lights, Battleship and The Leftovers, a show in which Berg also executive produces. So with Berg's headline making turn brining him back into the spotlight, I thought I would spotlight a couple of his most famous roles.

In The Wings: Jesse by TR Pics

'All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.'
William Shakespeare

Many of you are familiar with the multi-talented performer Jesse Townsend, and I am sure some of you have caught one or two of his performances. Performance was the theme that stood out for me when spending time with photographer Tom Rubeck from TR Pics. In each of the pieces I have done featuring Tom's work, I am impressed with his skill at creating images that are not just erotic, but also dramatic and theatrical.

The easy theme here would have been the sword, the innuendos could have been endless.... I really loved though, how Shakespearean Tom's images felt. They capture that moment of frenzy just before going on. Jesse appears as if waiting in the wings, with an awaiting audience, eagerly anticipating his climatic entrance.

Texas performer Jesse Townsend caught Tom's eye back in early 2013. Tom says that once he began getting more comfortable with his shooting, he reached out to him on Model Mayhem, and Jesse responded positively. Tom lives about 250 miles north from Jesse in Texas, but because he had another shoot in Dallas Jesse arranged to get together with Tom during his trip. I had to ask Tom about the location, I wondered if it was actually back stage, or a studio set. It was actually neither... in fact, although the room was actually designed in honor of a famous character from a Shakespearean tragedy, the room, both large and luxurious that Jesse is entering, is actually a bathroom.

I was not aware of Jesse's multifaceted career when I first approached Tom about featuring their work together. As familiar with I am with photographic images, I am not quite as well versed in the world of adult entertainment. That being said, I felt for research purposed, the need to check out some of this players many parts. Adult performers sometimes make some of the best models. Not only because of their comfortability with being naked in front of a camera, but also their ability create fantasy by inhabiting bigger than life situations and characters.

'Our session was fun, collaborative, and nicely long. He was really eager to try a lot of different set ups and styles. There was a wardrobe closet upstairs in the studios, and he found a military jacket he wanted to shoot in, to make a statement about loss due to war. After that, he stripped down and we took some amazing physique shots. He was so easy to work with and would do just about any pose I asked. That's a rare thing, for someone who is fairly experienced to just play and have fun. The results were some amazing shots!'

All Thing Alex

'Even though he's much more likely to be found behind our cameras these days, Alex, who first worked with us in 2012, remains the studio's most popular model. He has worked principally behind the scenes at New Manhattan Studios since late 2013, but his modeling career continues to thrive. In addition to working with photographers from New England to Florida to California, he does live modeling for artists and classes in New York City.'

FH readers are no doubt very familiar with model, stylist, production assistant and cameraman Alex Corso. Not only have I featured Alex several times as a model, Alex has been apart of almost every piece featuring the work of Wes and New Manhattan Studios since.

Alex has not only provided his perspective, he has also popped up in many of the Behind The Scenes shots, assisting models as they get ready for their close-ups. As second camera man, Alex's work behind the lens has also appeared, most notably during the shoot for Bond's FHHalloween feature. Wes was having issues with his camera, and without Alex's images, many of the Orange & Black shots would have been lost.

I promise much more of Alex to come on FH, but in the meantime wanted to celebrate his third year anniversary at NMS with these shots from a recent shoot with Wes. You can see much more at the newly created page, All Things Alex on New Manhattan Studios Check out some of the 'then and now' images where Wes and Alex recreate some of their early shots together.
