Nothing to Hide: Miguel by Mark Leighton

'Mark's panoramic seascapes, capturing incredible men on the breathtaking beaches of Portugal, act as an visual and erotic antidote. Mark's images of sun drenched bodies, posed on sandy beaches; the beautiful blues and greens of the Atlantic, the rock formations and especially those sunsets, counteract much or damage winter has ravaged on our souls.'

It is important to me, through the site, to let viewers know why I am attracted to certain images and the work of specific artists. Part of the reason I continue FH is to provide a bit of a contrast to the endless sites featuring images of the male form without context or credit. My goal is to tell the stories of the artist's, the models and the work. Whenever I feature the work of photographer Mark Leighton, I frequently talk about the visual vacation his images always take me on.

Never having been to Portugal, (yes!) and never having walked, ran or swam the beaches of Lagos, Mark's images always have been feeling I have spent a little time there, even if just for a virtual moment. Earlier this year, Mark made a comment in one of his e-mails to me that really struck a chord with me. He summed up so simply, my intention whenever sitting down to feature an artist's work. 'Tye, the wonderful thing about your narrative is that the reader feels they are on that journey with you.... you really bring a story to life. When you have written about my work in the past it felt like you put the last piece of the jigsaw in place.'

Mark's words meant a great deal to me. Great photographers take you places with their visuals. Many, through their images and behind the scene shots and comments, have me feeling that I had joined them, if just briefly, during the experience of the shoot. It is then my goal, through my comments and presentation, to take all of FH's viewers, on the journey as well.

One of Mark's latest journey's in Nothing To Hide. Mark has shot model Miguel Omari many time over the last several years, some of those shots appearing on FH in 2014. (Miguel: At The End of the Day) What is new, is Mark compiling their 2014 and 2015 shoots into his first book, Nothing to Hide. To took Mark awhile to decide it was time to finally release his first book, and Miguel makes the perfect subject for that project. The book includes much more nudity and many more erotic moments that Mark has released before.

Nothing to Hide makes a great teaser for one of the themes FH has started exploring, and will continue to do throughout 2017. I have always been fascinated in firsts. FH readers know, I always like to ask models about their first shoot, and their first time taking off their clothes for the camera. I have also been recently asking the same question to photographers, as the experience can be equally nerve racking for the person on the other side of the lens. You may think a 'first' book wouldn't be that consequential, but for Mark, it was a decision that took time to come to. Check out the preview on Blurb HERE: You can get both print and ebook versions, and if's it's a success, Mark is planning a follow-up featuring his work with Ash!

Christmas Countdown: Inked Santa's by Cooks Photography

Santa #1

Every January, after the hustle and bustle of Christmas, Santa decides on a design to mark the completion of another successful trip around the globe. Although Mrs. Clause gave her support, she did put in just one minor condition, nothing Christmas related!

One lucky Elf has the job each year of drawing and applying the new ink. A tired and worn out Santa, usually falls asleep as the new art work is applied to his naked body. First the shoulder, then the chest, leg, lower stomach and a mural over his muscled back.

Santa #2

Only one photographer has been asked to the North Pole each year to photograph the new tattoo's. Ever since first featuring photographer Hal Cooks work this past October, (Top of the Cove) I have wanted to feature more of his imagery. After Hal kindly shared some of his Halloween themed shots, I had to asked about his sexy trio of Kris Kringle's!

The Elves Will Play!

There's only one night a year when ole Daddy Santa is not around keeping an eye, and occasionally a hand... on his hard working elves. On the evening of December 24th, when most of us are snuggled with sugar plums dancing in our heads, Santa's Elves finally get to relax, and release 12 months of pent up sexual energy. Santa keeps his boys so busy, pounding together toys, they don't really have much time to enjoy themselves, or each other.

As soon as that sleigh takes off, and those 12 reindeer and Santa's husky red flanneled body disappear from site, it begins. There's not much left to party with, every toy, every candy and treat, every decoration and tree has been packed in sacks for world wide distribution, but that doesn't stop the holiday party about to begin. The Elves are usually able to find a morsel or crumb left on the toy shop floor, and a Charlie Brown tree to set the mood. That's all they really need though. With only about 12 hours of freedom, the Elf wear hits the floor hard, and the festive frolicking begins!

FH readers know Elf Alex very well. Alex Corso is always one of my favorite models to feature, and has been a part of many great stories and features since his debut on the site back in 2012. This past year, I focused on Alex's work as both a photographer and model. Alex, and his work with New Manhattan Studios, also helped FH celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Los Columbian Leprechaun. Elf Mark made his FH debut just last month, removing his clothing, under the water's surface with Gordon Nebeker capturing each moment of his suit strip. (A Fashionable Submersion)

It was actually Gordon that introduced Mark to NMS's Wes and Alex earlier this summer. This series of images was taken earlier this month when Mark was in New York for a solo shoot with Wes. At the end of the session, Alex joined in for a series of holiday shots that Wes thought might end up as Christmas cards for the studio. I love the romantic and fun feel to the images, and the addition of the Charlie Brown tree.

Alex and Mark look great together, and make an adorable and sexy pair of North Pole paramours. Alex oozes sexual energy and Mark's incredible smile indicates that our two little elves will make the most of their 12 hour celebration of carnality. While most of us south of Santa's workshop will wake up tomorrow full of enthusiasm for the day head, these two little elves will be heading to bed, their own beds, as Rudolph and company guide the big boss back to the snow covered village.

12 Days: Daniel Sunjata in Noel

Several years ago, I started the series 12 Days. 12 Days, was a 12 day countdown featuring some of the holiday hunks I discovered in Christmas themed movies. I love holiday movies, and it was interesting to see how many of those male leads in wholesome Hallmark movies had nude scenes in their past.

12 Days never got off the ground this year. I have been busier than usual, and have little time to watch many Christmas movies. I am hoping to rectify that a bit next week, but in the meantime, wanted to share one actor who caught my eye last week. I have yet to see 2004's Noel, but I see it is on Netflix. I am not sure I am ready yet to dive into a Susan Sarandon film, but if I do, this one is the one I'll watch.

I was at holiday game night party last week, after most people left, a few of us hung around to chat. Although the sound was off, the television was on and actor Daniel Sunjata's beautiful face and eyes were on the screen. It the few minutes I saw, Daniel's character seemed to be getting rejected by Sarandon... guess I'll have to watch to see why. The film also featured Penélope Cruz and Paul Walker. Later that night when I got home, I IMDB Daniel to find out the name, and year of the Christmas themed film.

I have to admit, my introduction to Daniel was not a film or TV role, but on a message board that featured a thread of images of actors who have appeared nude on stage in Take Me Out. Daniel's body was incredible of course, but it was that face and those eyes that drew to me look for him in his many television roles. Daniel has been a part of many TV shows, most recently along side Aaron Tveit in Graceland, and on ABC's Notorious. Notorious looks close to cancellation, with it's episode # recently reduced, but if it makes it to another season, I will add it to the DVR.

Santa Baby,
Hurry Down The Chimney Tonight....

The first image I post from photographer Male Beauty by bengie was a Christmas image. A Pic of the Day featuring a naked Santa tied up in a string of white Christmas lights. The first full story was a selection of my favorite shots from bengie's sexy Santa series. It seemed festively appropriate then, to feature more of the red flannel and bare skin in this year's Christmas Countdown. Gift Wrapped: Antoine by Lights On Studio

My first post featuring the imagery of model Hansel Wellington was back in 2013. (The Point Of Convergence) I loved the creativity in his work, his beautiful brown eyes and great body and hairy chest. I also loved his complete confidence and relaxed attitude with nudity. I kept my eye on his portfolio for new work, and last December, after seeing an incredibly hot images of Hansel, naked and straddling a large Christmas wreath. I quickly got in touch with Hansel about featuring the shoot.

Hansel quickly connected me with the artist behind the holiday shoot, Tom Nakielski from Lights On Studio and (Cocks & Candy Canes,) posted exactly one year ago today, was the first of many posts featuring Tom's work over the last year. When starting to think about this Christmas, I was committed to featuring the work of the artists that I featured last December 25th. Tom didn't have any new holiday images at the time, but was about to shoot with Antoine, who had asked to do a Santa themed session.

Tom was on board, but voiced a bit of hesitation given the shoot hadn't yet occurred and Antoine was a bit older than most of the models featured on FH. He needn't have worried. Although I feature my fair share of young models, I have featured men from 18 through 70 and my criteria is not about age, but about my love of the images. I think you'll all agree Antoine makes the perfect sexy Santa!

Tom shares that Antoine is a hairstylist who has worked in a salon along side his wife in for almost 30 years. He loves to sing and dance as well as little modeling on the side. Antoine and his wife were also foster parents for many years, but now have twins of their own. When Tom suggested they do a shoot, it was Antoine who shared that he was wanting to a Santa themed session. Perfect timing for the season, and for FH!

Antoine has a great look, with his sexy and mischievous dark eyes, great smile and a body that even Santa would put on his wish list. I especially love the touch of grey in Antoine's beard which only adds to his sensual Santa appeal. Tom captured both the naughty and nice and my enjoyment was only strengthened by learning a bit about the man under the red hat, and the fun and enjoyment he seemed to be having during the shoot.

12 Days: Love Actually's Thomas Brodie-Sangster

Want to feel old...

Last year, my Classic Christmas day 12 Days post featured Jimmy Stewart (HERE:). Although I personally prefer Shop Around The Corner over It's A Wonderful Life, Stewart's films are synonymous with Christmas. Although Love Actually is not, nor may never be, the classic that It's A Wonderful Life is, It is one of my favorite holiday films and I have probably watched it 20 times since it's debut in theaters back in 2003.

I love everything about Love Actually from the music to the most manipulative romantic scenes. I love Hugh Grant dancing to the Pointer Sisters, Colin Firth's Jamie proposing to Aurelia, Rodrigo Santoro in his undies, trying to have sex with Laura Linney, and Andrew Lincoln showing his cards to Keira Knightley. No matter how many times I have watched, I never can stop a tear rolling down my cheek when Emma Thompson is alone in her bedroom listening to Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now. Joni is joined on the soundtrack by many other great artists, including The Bay City Rollers...

Bye Bye Baby plays as Daniel (Liam Neeson) says goodbye to his wife, and Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) says good bye to his mom. I loved the relationship between Daniel and Sam, and although the final airport run and kiss was a little drawn out, Sam's kiss on Joanna still brings a smile. Thomas Brodie-Sangster was only 13 during the filming, but believe it or not, he is now 26. I never really thought of featuring Thomas before, I always thought he was that 'cute little kid' from the film. But.. after seeing the actor on Game Of Thrones a few years ago, and googling to find he was now 23, a post seemed in order.

I decided to wait for a Christmas piece, given that except for Game of Thrones, Love Actually was the only other project I had seen him in. I started reading Maze Runner the book a few years ago, but didn't realize until putting together this piece, that Thomas is also one of the films leads.

Thomas has been busy in both television and film, and had a small role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Thomas will also be seen in the next Maze Runner movie, The Death Cure, due out in 2018. Finding out that 'cute kid' was now 26 was a bit depressing, but nothing that a repeat viewing of Love Actually wouldn't cure!

Getting Our Christmas On! Mr. Herzog by Gordon Nebeker

His eyes-how they twinkled! his cheek dimples how merry!

Last Christmas morning, viewers who dropped into FH were gifted with the wondrous site of Mr. Herzog on a step latter, hanging an ornament high on the tree. Gordon Nebeker snapped a few holiday shots while he and Mr. Herzog were shooting earlier in December just in time to help FH celebrate the holiday.

Gordon is one of the kindest, and most generous of souls, and always supportive with a request or support for the site. So.... when he told me he was heading down to Florida for Christmas, and meeting again with Mr. Herzog along the way... I had to ask! Now I think I may have been pushing it to ask Gordon to stick that step latter in his trunk, but Gordon was fully aware of my love of both Mr. Herzog, and his penchant for decorating tree's while completely naked. The problem this year.... the Christmas tree was not in a toasty and comfortably heated living room.

'The forest we were in was 95% deciduous trees with their leaves now all over the ground. Finding a pine or fir tree was a more difficult task than I thought it would be, but 3/4’s into our shoot we found a small grove of young pine trees and that is where we got our “Christmas” on. It was a bright sunny day but the temperature was 43 degrees and there was a “high wind advisory” posted at the entrance to the forest and they were not kidding! The combination of strong wind gusts and low temps was almost too much, even for the Marine!'

'If you look close up and carefully, you can see the goose bumps on his legs in some of these photos. In total, I was only able to get about half the number of photos on this outing than I normally take but it was, as always, a fun and rewarding shoot. Mr. Herzog was flattered to be requested for a Christmas edition of Favorite Hunks for a second year!'

Special thanks to Gordon Nebeker and Mr. Herzog for baring the cold and wind to give everyone checking into FH this Christmas morning a surprise in their stocking. Check out all of Gordon's work with Mr. Herzog on FH HERE:

Tradition!

One of the things that make each family's holiday unique is their individual traditions. What, when we eat, when gifts are open, how gifts are given, church? Tradition also plays a pivotal role in how I put together FH. There will be models frolicking on beaches in the summer, surrounded by fall foliage in Autumn and standing naked in the snow in winter. There will also be regular appearances by some of my favorite models and artists throughout the year, especially during the holidays.

New Manhattan Studio and Frisky Frolic have become a huge part of FH's Halloween tradition, and last year Gordon Nebeker, and Mr. Herzog, began a Christmas tradition I hope will continue. Last year on Christmas Day, FH presented three holiday features.  First off, Gordon's glorious shots of Mr. Herzog trimming the tree, Lights On Studio's hot holiday Hansel shoot, and a 12 Days piece featuring Jimmy Stewart. This year, I was fortunate to be able to continue with tradition.  Now... I just need an artist to take on Easter...

I wish all FH readers a wonderful, peaceful and tradition filled Christmas and thank everyone who pops by to regularly check out a few of my favorite things!

Window Display: Tony Ferrari by Richard Rothstein

'If eyes are the windows to the soul; then shop windows are just as revealing. They reveal the soul of the shop.'
Debra Templar

I have visited New York many times over the years. With all my trips however, early November was the closest I came to being there at Christmas. I have dreamed of replicating many of the holiday scenes I have memorized from films. Walking the streets at Christmas, a light snow coming down of course, and enjoying the holiday window displays. I think that's one of the reasons that I'm so drawn to Richard Rothstein's images.

Almost every photo of Richard's I have posted features a model beautifully interacting with the city of New York. Places many of us know, but also locations, roof tops, alley ways, side streets and neighborhood that most tourists don't ever notice or ever get to see. They are corners of city that only those passionate about the their surroundings, understand and appreciate. They are also both the location, and the inspiration for so much of Richard's work.

i love the quote I used at the start of this piece. But given Templar is a retail consultant, her focus is more on the 'sale' than the 'male'. When it comes to art, the soul reveal is always about the artist and image creator. Richard's soul and passion is always beautifully on display in his work. Both is passion for the city, and the many men he explores, and captures within it.

When Richard sent on his of the ultra hot Tony Ferrari earlier in the month, I felt as though he gifted me with December in New York. I featured the first set just before Christmas, with Tony wrapped in lights in front of the windows. (HERE:) In this series of shots, Tony is again in front of those windows, getting comfy in his Christmas onesie, a new holiday sweater and course his, his wool socks.

Richard's images of Tony beautifully illustrate both the artistry and soul of the man behind the lens. Unlike however, the window display's at Macy's, Barneys and Bloomingdale's, Richard's windows are not ones you can simply enjoy briefly as you pass by. They require a prolonged stop, and draw you back to revisit, again and again.

Pillow Fight: Kieth by Carl Proctor

Someone's gonna get hurt!

You can thank Carl Proctor, and his images of Keith, for today's pajama day theme. When I was working on my Ten Celebration, I knew not only I wanted to feature Carl's work, but also again revisit his work with Keith. It was Carl's images of Keith that first had me contacting the Atlanta photographer back in 2011.

The first time I featured Carl's images of Keith, (Visual Stimulation) Carl sent on many images of Keith, in and out of various pieces of wardrobe. Some of those images, were from this set featuring Keith in his pajama bottoms. When I was working on Ten, I asked Carl to send on some shots from some of there early work together, and decided to save this series to help warm up a cold winters day.

There were also some great shots of Keith in a red onesie, (on The OVER-FLOW:) but I decided to stick to the pajamas. If you look closely at Keith pj's, and why wouldn't you, you can see how perfectly they fit today's theme. The image pattern on Keith's pajama pants features Santa, not in the North Pole, but down south. Santa's on vacation, surrounded by palm tree's and beach umbrella's.

After a long week of flying around the globe, Santa, like the rest of us, deserves some rest and relaxation. Santa luckily has some reindeer to drop him off in the Bahamas, but for many of us... it's our living rooms that we transform into our relaxation paradise.

I love that Keith is holding a pillow, primed and ready for a pillow fight. Pillow fights between women are often depicted as highly sexual, but not the same for guys. Maybe it's because many us had our first pillow fights with a sibling, and my pillow fights with my brother were brutal. They began in fun, but they often got quite aggressive, with my father intervening before one of us got hurt. Today's pillows might not hurt, but our heavy feathered pillows in the 80's could knock you across a room.

Having a 'pillow fight' with someone you're attracted to, is a completely different story. The goal is not to hurt, or even to win. The goal is the release of energy, and to get your opponent hot and sweaty. To create situations during game play where physical contact is unavoidable and the odd flash of skin and especially falling down, or yanked down pajama pants is par for the course.

The Pajama Game

The Pajama Game
Is the game I'm in.
And I'm proud to be
In The Pajama Game
I love it.

I think my love of guys in Pajamas began with my high school production of The Pajama Game. My experience is that leads in high school musicals are not always chosen by voice or talent. Many of us theatre geeks often ended up with secondary roles or in the chorus. I nabbed the role of Prez in our production and had a blast singing Her Is. The leads, especially the male leads at our school, were often popular guys, or good looking jocks the drama teacher could persuade to give 'acting' a try. They guy who got the role of Sid Sorokin in our production was a bit of an ass, but he sang ok, and as our drama couch predicted, was hot enough with his shirt off to draw in an audience who may not have otherwise spent an evening at the school musical.

As most actors who get the role of Sid, high school productions or otherwise, find out, they are supposed to appear in shirtless, in just pajama bottoms in the shows closing number. This tradition was began by the late great John Raitt, who appeared shirtless in both the original 1954 Broadway production, and in the 1957 film version.

Some schools, and some actors, notably, Harry Connick Jr. in the 2006 Broadway revival, choose to keep a undershirt covering their Sid's, but it sort of ruins the moment. The whole idea is to have the couple sharing one pair of pj's. The Sid my school's production played volleyball and was a swimmer, and although we never became close, I did enjoy standing next to him, and holding his hand at each night's curtain call.

Pajama Day!

Sometimes you just need a pajama day!

I have written before about the town I live in. It's a bit Stars Hollow like in it's love of holiday's and festivals. It also has no tolerance for those who want to lead normal live on a holiday. Our town shuts down, and I mean completely at 5pm on Christmas Eve. The shut down is so severe, the local tv station post the one gas station and drug store that is open over the holiday. The stores don't open at midnight on Christmas night, nor at 9a.m on the 26th. They remain closed until the morning of the 27th, and that is when Boxing Day sales begin.

As an adult, I have come to appreciate this shut down, but as a kid it was annoying. I was chomping at the bit to spent that $20 bill from Aunt Irene, and hated having to wait until the 27th. The one good thing, that with both school, and most of the stores closed, Christmas was more than a day, but a week. A week of spending most of our time in our pj's. Even went we went out, to visit friends, or even play in the snow, it was our pajama's we put back on when we came in. We watched cartoons all day, except when mom watched her soaps, and played with our new Christmas toys and games.

This year, I returned to school to take a few classes, and am feeling a bit of déjà vu to those pajama days. I have had a few commitments, and have been on a road a bit to get to my family for Christmas, but after the 28th, am planning on 3 full pajama days! It doesn't really matter if you actually wear pajamas at night, most people these days don't. I don't actually have a full set of pj's, but two flannel pajama bottoms, just for wearing on cold winter days. I hope you all get at least one or two before life starts up again (for those who actually get a brief pause) after the New Year.
