Feels So Right: Stephen Eriksen by YogaBear Studio
'The past few years of my life I’ve realized more and more that I’m very big on exhibitionism.'
It is always a joy when I'm able to feature the work of David from YogaBear Studio. David's imagery not only captures incredibly hot men, they also capture a spiritual element that can be keenly felt within his work. In part it's the incredible locations utilizes, open spaces with not only visual beauty, but also a timeless quality with pieces of the land's history adding an added depth and layer to his imagery.
This spiritual element isn't just something viewers enjoy. So many of the models that David has shot have shared how they felt ad experienced it as well. When I was recently back on David's site I was instantly drawn to his work with 23 year old model Stephen Eriksen. Stephen has a an incredible body, one he knows how to pose to perfection. Stephen's beautiful blue eyes light up in front of David's lens. Then, there's Stephen's sexy long brown hair which he uses beautifully as an extra element with whatever emotion he is expressing.
'I've had long hair once before but not ever this long! I first had long hair in 8th grade to my shoulders, but only kept it long for about a year. This time around I've been growing it for about 3 and a half years now, but making sure I get it trimmed every 4-6 months, to keep it more healthy! It is a struggle to deal with sometimes but it is definitely worth it. I love how it adds another little extra to each photo as well, it's like a photo shoot prop, but one that's built into me! Haha'
In addition to his physical allure, Stephen also seemed to strongly embody the spirituality of the experience and majesticness of his surroundings. There was an energy that seemed to flow from seamlessly between earth, land and body and Stephen magnificently embraced the erotic power of being completely naked in his wondrous playground under the heat of the California sun.
Stephen looks completely comfortable, and he gives most of the credit to David. Stephen had posed nude before, but his work with David was only his third time taking it all off in front of the camera. The first time, was with a local photographer who was in the beginning stages of learning. Although they got some awesome shots, working with David was on an entirely different level.
'My third nude photo shoot EVER was with David and I could not be anymore thankful that it was with such a kind-hearted, easy going, and peaceful soul. He is a very mellow person, and so am I (usually, at least! haha), so we got along perfectly!! I was really intimidated coming into the shoot though, because I had only shot with the beginner photographer, but then here I was about to shoot with someone who has his whole website up and everything. His personality immediately calmed my nerves though, and in my head I was like okay he's just another human out here on Earth just having a good time and enjoying life ya know so why was I so anxious?'
As comfortable and free as Stephen appears, being completely naked in front of others is something he says he had to grow into. It began when he was 19 and started going to a local nude beach about 15 minutes from where he was attending university. Being nude in front of the strangers on the beach was't really a big deal for him, if he had any reservations, it was getting nude in front of his friends who joined him at the beach. As you can clearly see though, Stephen clearly got over his initial reservations, and it didn't take long however, for him to become totally relaxed.
'I like to be free and have my clothes off if possible. Not like all the time but I do enjoy being naked. It just turns me on so much and feels so right. The past few years of my life I’ve realized more and more that I’m very big on exhibitionism, which is pretty evident now with all my things I have going on between nude modeling and my other content I do.'
Stephen enjoyment of being in front of the lens is clear, and that energy flow certainly had a positive impact, turning him on for much of the shoot. So much so, it was an enjoyable challenge finding images where the energy wasn't surging up within him. There are over 150 plus images from their two day shoot, including both location and studio shots on David's site HERE: Just click on 2018 to see much more of David's shots of Stephen.
'As for final images, oh my they blew me away... beyond words! David did SUCH a wonderful job on this. He was also extremely helpful and suggested poses for me to show to the camera, and little techniques to keep your body open so that the lighting will hit it at a certain angle so that it will make the picture a lot better. He is an awesome teacher. I can't wait to shoot with him again!!'
In addition to Stephen's page on YogaBear Studio's site, you can also check out more his modeling work on Model Mayhem HERE: Stephen's exhibitionist side has also led him to some solo video work (HERE:) and some live cam work on Chaturbate. If you want to see him live, check out his page HERE:

A Vintage Vantage: James Franciscus in Beneath the Planet of the Apes
'The only good human... is a dead human!'
I have loved the original Planet of the Apes movie since first seeing it when I was a kid. Although I have watched, and appreciated the recent remakes, those 70's actors in masks and costumes were more real to me as a kid than the computer generated apes in the recent versions. I tend to stay away from sequels, and never really watched any of the sequels of the original, I may have seen clips, or parts on TV, but it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I gave one a try.
The movie was Escape from the Planet of the Apes, (1971) the second sequel in the series. It was character driven more than plot and action driven and I found myself really drawn in, especially with the performances of Roddy McDowell and Kim Hunter. The movie had little action, and only three (and then two) ape characters. Their 'strangers in a strange land' journey was compelling and the performances made it worth my journey in.
At the beginning of the film, a few scenes from the second movie, Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970) were shown to fill viewers in. The clips, including actor James Franciscus in a loin cloth, had me DVRing an upcoming airing on one of my movie channels. In some of the promotional photos, Franciscus reminded me of Carrie Fisher in Return of the Jedi. If I had any photo shoppe skills whatsoever, I would have put the loin clothed actor in front of Jabba the Hutt.
Although I recognized his name, I don't think I had seen Franciscus in anything before watching this flick. The movie itself was so so, pretty good until they finally got 'beneath' to a silly science fiction story that put the power of the original film in jeopardy for a minute or two. Thankfully, the odd underworld seems to have stayed in this film, and not infiltrated others in the series.
Franciscus did make the viewing enjoyable as he remained in his loin cloth for about half of the film, running, jumping and rolling around throughout. Not sure what to expect, but there are two more 70's sequels I look forward to checking out.

Love, Nick Robinson
'He's done keeping his story straight.'
I haven't seen 'Love, Simon' yet, but am excited to after reading some of the reviews. I have however loved it's star Nick Robinson for awhile. I first featured Nick on FH after crushing over him after seeing Jurassic World. (Homo Erectus) I of course, also had to feature his butt baring nude scene in 2016's Being Charlie. (HERE:) Not only incredibly hot, Nick is a talented actor with a compelling everyman quality which both connects with, and interests film goers.
Love, Simon is really a break through in gay cinema, no matter how good, or bad it turns out to be. There have been great gay themed films for decades (most in the 'foreign film' section when there was a Blockbuster, but few reached a mass audience. Even Oscar nominated films like Call Me By Your Name and Brokeback Mountain, were not marketed to mainstream audiences like Love, Simon. In part it's because it's a teen film ad in part because it's romantic comedy, but I have never seen a film with a gay lead character so heavily promoted on television before.
Again, I am not thinking Love, Simon is going to win any academy awards, but at the same time, it's often smaller, less acclaimed projects, ones that are able to reach more people that often make the biggest impact. The movie is not just playing in art theatres, or in just LA and New York. The thought of groups of teens, average kids from different parts of the country, heading to the theatre on a Friday night to see the latest Greg Berlanti film, just as they would any other teen comedy, is both a quietly normal, yet really great thing.,

Two Sons, One Destiny
Tim Shriver & John F. Kennedy Jr.
Joe Jr, Kathleen and John (Jack)
I have to be honest, I really didn't know much about the Kennedy family pre JFK. I studied JFK in school of course, and I crushed over John Jr when I was younger, shocked when he died so young back in 1999. My biggest dive into the family was when I was about 19 or 20. I was working on a boardwalk for the summer, signing up tourists for boat tours. 7 our of my 8 hour summer days were just sitting in a booth, doing little but staring out into the harbour. I usually worked the second shift, and the older woman who worked the first shift often left her novels for the rest of us to read.
Ted (far right)
I had no real interest, but found myself deeply involved in a biography she left behind about Joan Kennedy, first wife of senator Ted Kennedy. Growing up, it was hard to connectTed was the bigger, older Kennedy, as the younger brother of the former President. I was interested then to watch American Dynasties: The Kennedy's on CNN. CNN often makes great commercials for their documentaries. Sometimes their ads, beautifully blending clips and music end up being far better than the documentary itself, so I was eager, yet skeptical about The Kennedy's.
Joseph P Kennedy Jr.
I have only watched the first episode, but was immediately drawn into the life of Joseph Kennedy, his wife rose and their nine children. Although John (Jack), Ted and Robert (Bobby) are the most well know, I was fascinated by the lives of Rosemary, who's lobotomy led to her being institutionalized and eldest daughter Kathleen and eldest son Joe who both died tragically young.
Joe especially caught my eye, not only because like his younger brother John, he was incredibly good looking, but because of the many unfilled hopes and dreams put on the oldest son. It was Joe, not John who was supposed to be the star of the family, and the one his father thought would become President. The documentary briefly mentions his jealousy concerning his younger brother taking the limelight, but after the naval aviator was killed during the war, the high expectations fell upon his younger brother John.
There is a haunting irony watching old home movies of the young, good looking and privileged Kennedy children playing in the pool, horsing around and having fun together, no idea of the tragedy that so many of them are soon to experience. The entire family, especially Joe and John look straight out of central casting. Although the Kennedy's had many hot men in the family, so many like Joe, died so young. There are a few books about Joe out there and I look forward to learning more about his short life, and his relationships with his siblings.

Instagrams that inspire: Killian
French model and personal trainer Killian Belliard practices what he preaches with an incredible physique that he skillfully knows how to use when in front of a gifted photographer. As much as I love the beard, I also love having a more naked vision of Killian's face in the shot from 2013 below. That face, those eyes, that body....

Wildflowers
No one has to plant them... they grow wherever the hell they want
I couldn't think of a better symbol to mark the beginning of spring than flowers, wild flowers in particular. Unlike the the flowers so many buy and plant in their gardens, wildflowers have a strength, stamina and freedom to endure everything that both man and nature throw their way. UK photographer bengie has captured some incredible wildflowers within his work chronicling the male form. If you check out his page on Purple Port you will see fields of breathtaking wildflowers are often bengie's studio choice, balancing the beauty, stamina and strength, of the men he captures.
I hope you are blessed with a heart like a wildflower.
Strong enough to rise again after being trampled upon,
tough enough to weather the worst of the summer storms,
and able to grow and flourish even in the most broken places.

Richard Rothstein: A Pinch of Ginger
'You'd find it easier to be bad than good if you had red hair.'
L. M. Montgomery
Dave
Ever since first enjoying photographer Richard Rothstein's chronicling of Sketchy Saturday's at TherapyNYC, it has become a destination I look forward to visiting the next time I am in New York. I would have especially loved to have been there last Saturday when they celebrated St. Patrick's day with a gorgeous and hunky doublet of gingers.
Last Saturday's creative inspirations were Dave and Chris, two russet and ski freckled models posing for artists, sketchers and those just wanting a pinch of ginger mixed in to their Saturday evening.
We often connect redheads with St. Paddy's day, and in America, many gingers do come from Irish decent. In Ireland however, only about 10& of the total population have red hair. (which also includes auburn and Strawberry blond) It is actually Scotland, with about one eighth of the population, (12.5%) who have beautifully dark and reddish hair.
The US doesn't really have a day to celebrate all things Scottish, so until then gingers and St. Paddy's day will have have to remain connected. Canada does celebrate Tartan Day every April, a day originated in Canada the mid 1980's. Although also recognized in the US in the late 90's is not as well known outside of Scottish societies and communities. Regardless, for me, every and any day is a good day to celebrate a hot ginger.

Budding: Darian by JDT Photo
Budding:
-becoming larger as part of the process of normal growth.
-beginning and showing signs of promise in a particular career or field.
Back when I first featured the work of JDT Photo, I would probably describe the Georgia based photographer as a gifted and 'budding' young artist. When I wrote that piece in 2014, (The Spring Suspension) Jesse was just 24 but described his passion for photography as already firmly embedded. Jesse's philosophy is that if you love what you see when you look through the lens, that passion will come through to the viewer through the images.
I certainly love what see when I spend time with Jesse's work, especially his choice of models to create with. Although Jesse has certainly worked with his share of experienced models, some, like Seamus O'Reilly (Exceedingly Irish) I have featured on FH, many are 'budding' young models, most I have seen for the first time through their work with Jesse..
Darian is one of those models, a stunning young model who beautifully interacts with his lush surroundings. Although Jesse worked with models inside, his studio of choice is the often forest. The woods provides endlessly unique colors and backdrops, incredible tree's and plants as props and bodies of water for the naked body's he is shooting to submerge in. Darian looks he belongs in the forest, at home and at ease as he moves and poses so elegantly within the woods. Darian's soulful eyes also seem to be taking in and channeling all the beauty around him in Jesse's shots.
I think it's Jesse's forest studio that has me returning to work during times of seasonal change. Jesse not only manages to capture the beauty of his surroundings, but the silence, and not only the noticeable, but the subtle changes in color, texture, temperature and light that occur during natures routine, yet extraordinary transitions. If you want to see more of Jesse's work, check out much more at the links below. Jesse has also begun an OnlyFans site as a new way to feature and share his imagery.

Captured Regrets
I was just a baby in the seventies when The Bay City Rollers were at the height of their teen idol fame so I only really know of them from old teen magazines and the net. Les McKeown was a cutie, but i don't really remember the 'off the shoulder' look that popular in men's fashion, even for pop stars. Not sure if it was a quick trend, or simply a captured regret only poor Les has to suffer. I think he looked best in the image above, keeping both shoulders free from fabric.

Richard Rothstein A Spring Nor’easter
Winter Storm Toby, the fourth Nor’easter in less than three weeks, covered the storm-ravaged East Coast with a fresh blanket of snow just in time for the start of spring.
For many, picturesque snowy New York scenes are the stuff dreams are made of. Quiet streets of snowy silence as a blizzard forces a speedy city to slow down. But... those dreams for most are December, maybe January dreams, by late March, most consider a spring Nor’easter more of a nightmare...
Not me, despite shoveling more last night and this morning than I did all winter, this late winter storm was a welcome visitor. This past winter, though cold, was most absent of major snowfalls, so it was nice to get my fix before the crocus pop through. For Richard Rothstein, it was a last opportunity to have his Manhattan studio blanketed in white, one last opportunity to coerce a model to drop trou while the cold, wind and snow whip around them.
Some how, despite the freezing temperatures, I don't think Richard had to do much coercing to have Sergey slip off his jeans. Even with the cold, and out on the public city streets, if you've seen my previous pieces featuring Richard's work with Sergey, you might detect that neither snow, sleet or possible passerbyers would be a deterrent. In fact, I think they would only add to the shoot's energy and excitement.
Although it is a winter wonderland around my home, and I am all shoveled out, I am thinking with April just around the corner, this weeks storm was a beautiful goodbye to the season. Now I am sure there will be more snow, most likely not in these quantities, but unless Sergey is planning on hanging outside on my street, I say Au revoir to Nor’easter's a fine Adieu to Winter. See you again in about seven or eight months.

Spartan: Damien Mathew by NICKET
'No retreat, no surrender; that is Spartan law. And by Spartan law we will stand and fight... and die.'
Some of you may remember my first piece featuring Nicholas' (NICKET) work with Damien Mathew last Autumn. (HERE:) I really loved the images Nicholas had sent on and when he told me they had been shooting together again, I looked forward to seeing what he might be sending on. Nicholas sent on a great set of images of Damien, again shot out in the scenic fields and hills around Santa Cruz.
As hot as the 22 year old model looked, the location and wardrobe was very similar to the previous images I had used. There were some great new poses, but before choosing some final shots, I e-mailed Nicholas back to see if he and Damien had shot anywhere, or worked on anything a little different from the previous images that I had used. Nicholas got right back to me that indeed they had, thanks to something he had just recently found.
What Nicholas had found, was a striking, and a little intimidating helmet, one that reminded me of depictions I had seen in images and films of the Spartans, inhabitants of the ancient Greek city-state. When you google Spartans, several things come up, but at the top of the list are images of the helmet, as well as the phrase ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ.
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ (Molon labe)
Come and take (them), a classical expression of defianc eattributed to King Leonidas of Sparta as a defiant response to the demand that his soldiers lay down their weapons.
What is so interesting about the connection between the helmet, the Spartans and ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ, is the tattoo Damien sports on one side of his incredibly hard, and incredibly sexy stomach. That tattoo stood out to me when I first featured Damien, so much so that I made it the title and theme of the piece. What makes the connections so interesting to me is that the helmet wasn't chosen by Nicholas to connect with Damien's tattoo, it was simply a twist of fate the brought everything visually together.
'The old saying one man’s junk is another man’s treasure definitely proved true for this photo shoot. The inspiration for this shoot came from the impressive helmet left behind when someone moved. Although a little big Anthony pulls off the look very well and makes a convincing warrior. Complimenting the wardrobe was the forest location by a hidden lake provided by Anthony. And of course Anthony’s excellent physique kept up with hard work and dedication.'
Damien doesn't appear the least bit intimidated by the powerful prop, and it almost looks like he's reconnecting with a piece of his history. Damien's steely blue blue eyes look ready for battle staring out from his spike adorned head piece. Now Spartan's (sadly) didn't wear grey Jockey briefs, but like the helmet, Damien wears them well and the entire look reminds me of a bit of a sexy fantasy game, one however, for grown ups only.

FaVorite Soap Hunk of the Day William DeVry
I don't watch General Hospital, and wan't really familiar with actor William DeVry until a blog reader recently asked about him. When I googled DeVry, who plays Julian Jerome on the ABC soap, I knew I had seen him, and his incredibly sexy chest before. Checking out his IMDB page, I think it was from some of his guest appearances on television shows as well as his regular roles on Beauty and the Beast and Stargate SG-1.
The Montreal born actor appeared in a number of Canadian based television shows until moving to California in the early 2000's and starting his career in daytime. DeVry had roles on Port Charles, All My Children and The Bold and the Beautiful until landing his role on General Hospital in 2013. In between his soap stints, the actor worked steadily on shows such as Hemlock Grove, Nikita, NCIS, and Castle.
It is no wonder the 49 year old hottie has been steaming up so many bedrooms on daytime given how incredible he looks without a shirt on. When the blog reader contacted me however, it wasn't about a scene featuring DeVry without his shirt, it was about a scene featuring DeVry without his pants...
Indeed, back in 1997 DeVry was pantless in the Kris Kristofferson narrated western anthology series Dead Man's Gun. I found a copy of the actors Fortune Teller episode and made a few caps below. If you want to see a bit more, watch my short clip below, or check out the entire episode which is available on YouTube HERE:
