Chris Hemsworth: Clung

As hot as actor Chris Hemsworth looks without his shirt, he also looks incredible when totally covered in his skin tight wet suit.

Not sure the two images above and below are new, but these shots, of Chris' blue wet suit clinging on for dear life, had me on the search for some of my other favorite shots of Chris at the beach.

As hot as it looks on, the wet suit looks equally enticing, coming off...

The Boy Next (to the) Door: Elvis by Male Beauty by bengie

'There's something romantic about French doors, especially when they act as the visual gateway to a quiet farm in the English countryside. Although the setting is static, each model changes slightly how the doors are presented. Their bodies and poses, personalities and fashion, (if any) and the angles Bengie uses make each image distinctive.'

It's always fascinating for me, to both know and appreciate, why I'm drawn back to the work of a particular photographer.  For some, it's about the model in focus, but in most cases, it's something more.  Even when I love a particular model, I'm not always in love with how an artist chooses to shoot them.  When I'm drawn to a model, it's about how I view them.  When I'm drawn to an image, it's about how their viewed by the artist.

In the case of Male Beauty by bengie, the view is always spectacular. There's no equivocation in bengie's focus, with a limited amount of tease, with little to no need for fashion.  Bengie' imagery spotlights the sensual and erotic side of his subjects in all their naked glory.  With minimal fashion, and without many props, bengie's images have an organic feel, enhanced by the locations that uses in his shoots.

The studio bengie uses is his home in Cheshire England, and he utilizes both the inside, and the barns and fields which surround it.  One of my favorite places that bengie often uses is his back patio, with models posing in front of the French doors.  One of my favorite profiles of bengie's work was from 2015 and focused on various models posing in front of the French door. (HERE:)

At the time of the piece, bengie hadn't shot with Elvisyet, so when I saw images of Elvis on the patio, I knew they needed a feature of their own.  Many FH readers might remember from my featured with Elvis from last year. (HERE:)  Elvis creates such beautiful lines and poses and there's an energy in his work that's both captivating and erotically engaging.  Check out a few more shots of Elvis on the patio on PAGE 2 HERE:

'I can't defend everything I did back in junior high, I mean who can? But let's face it, when you show up at school wearing a tweed blazer with elbow patches and carrying a valise, I mean, I think the guilt here is fifty- fifty.'
Danny Kriezel

Those who checked out my profile of actor Justin Gorence last week know that I'm currently making my way through viewing Frasier.  I never really watched the Kelsey Grammer sit-com when it first aired, but have enjoyed catching up on series the last few weeks.  I recently watched the 1994 season two episode Seat of Power and was drawn to the hot plumber Frasier hired to fix his bathroom.

The hot ginger plumber ended up being the bully who terrorized Niles in Jr. High.  I recognized the actor, but it didn't immediately click who it was, well, until he smiled.  Although I of course know of actor John C. McGinley, I'm not really sure I've seen him much before.  I know he was on Scrubs, and I mostly know him from promoting the series, more than actually watching it.

Scrubs

Although I haven't really much of his work, I've seen enough of McGinley in guest shots and interviews to have gained an appreciation for his comedic skills, and to pick up on his obvious and distinct sex appeal.  Although the actor's had a few implied nude scenes, his most visible baring was in Wild Hogs.  Check out caps from John's skinny dip from the 2007 film  on PAGE 2 HERE:

'Nonetheless, the allegation that Jimmy and Larry were clandestine lovers would haunt the investigation and trial...'

'So much so, that the prosecutors would unsubtly paint the pair as a contemporary rendition of the sociopathic Brandon and Phillip from Alfred Hitchcock's Rope, so psychotically enamored with each other that they were driven to to kill for sport.'

Rope

Normally, I avoid spotlighting criminality, even when it's a smooth criminal, but the story of Jimmy Boudoin  II (aka James Rackover) was too juicy to ignore.  I spent an hour last weekend in the sun, devouring the Vanity Fair story about Jimmy,  and his relationship (surrogate son? alleged lover?with famous New York Jeweler Jeffrey Rackover.

Jeffrey and Jimmy

The story however turns tragic when the would be model, who shot with Rick Day, is involved in the violent murder of 26 year old Joey Comunale.    I won't give away the details, but if you haven't heard about the case before, the entire Vanity Fair story, with all the lured details, is available and can be read on their website.

Over the last few months, with the pandemic new, and cases rising, the world got quiet.  You could see and feel it everywhere, on the streets, in the empty stores.  Life felt especially muted on those days normally set aside for celebration.  There was no St. Patrick's Day parade, no Boston Marathon and few mothers in close proximity to their children on the second Sunday in May.

Something changed that, and it wasn't the chaotic and hurried reopening of the country.  More than any recommendation by  government or health professionals, it was the murder of George Floyd that brought tens of thousands out of their homes, and onto the streets.  Despite the dangerous and cruel fueled responses from the horror show that is The White House, protests persisted.  Seeing so many people, of all ages, races and sexual orientations marching together certainly brought a sense of hope and pride to me this month of June.

I know there are some who are wary about comparing the struggles with racism with that of the struggles with others.  They are fundamentally different in their roots, yet at the same time, the results on the human spirit are all-inclusive.  If you've been watching Mrs. American on FX, (and if you haven't, you really should!) there are so many story threads that resonate with current events.  Issues of race prevalent, shown in the series through both Shirley Chisholm's story arc, and how black women were treated at Ms. Magazine.  There were also many women in the feminist movement who struggled with full, or any, inclusion of Lesbian and Gay rights within their platform.

Although much of the world is 're-opening', many of the Pride events have already been cancelled or postponed, this year seems an especially important one to show both our pride, and our support in the struggles of others. A huge part of Pride has always been about being seen, being visible, and being heard.  Right now, all voices need to be heard, especially those silence and muted by historical and systemic racism, sexism and homophobia. With a President so internally feeble and devoid of any ability to care or show compassion, it's especially important voices be loud and  Prideful voices be heard.

When I was thinking of how best to commemorate Pride month on the site, I knew what I wanted to say.  I also knew what visuals would be perfect to honor the event.  Many FH readers have seen and enjoyed my previous posts featuring Mickey, (HERE:) shot by StudioMGphotography.  I remembered that in his book devoted to his work with Mickey, Mark had included a shot of Mickey (above) with the rainbow flag.  When I asked Mark if I could use it, he not only said yes, he generously went back to the shoot and edited several additional shots for me to feature.  Thanks Mark and Happy Pride to EVERYONE celebrating this month and always.

I'm sure many of you have seen images of this statue before, but for me, they were both new, and completely surprising. When I saw the statue of Abraham Lincoln on this week on Rqirrwe, I was sure it must be a joke.  A quick search informed me it is indeed real.  'Young Lincoln' by James Hansen depicting a young and shirtless, stands in the lobby in the Los Angeles Federal Courthouse Building.

Russell Todd in Club V.R.

'The Century club VR is a virtual reality club in Los Angeles. After a brutal murder, a beautiful female-investigator begins the investigation. However, she soon realizes that the case might interfere with her sexual fantasies.'

I think I first noticed the stunningly handsome Russell Todd back in the early 90's when used to watch Another World with my mother after I got home from school.  In addition to his sculpted facial features, Todd also has  deliciously yummy chest hair which thank goodness, he hasn't shaved much for roles he's taken on.

Another World

Every year when as Halloween approaches, I usually find myself crushing over Todd again as he's appeared in several of the films from the 80's that I've profiled in my Horror Hunks series.  Until now however, the actor's only turned up on the site a few times.  Time to change that!

After recently seeing Todd in another horror film on TCM, I decided to do a deeper dive and discovered he actually had a nude scene on his resume.  It wasn't one of his 80's flicks however, but from the 1996 straight to video flick Club V.R.  Although the focus on the soft core virtual realty film is on the female form, Todd has three sex scenes, two of which give viewers a decent view of his meaty behind.

Todd still looking mighty fine in two more recent shots.

The Sequence Seducement: Michael by Pace Photography

'I'm just someone who simply loves photography and story-telling through photography. My photographs are often simplistic, stripped down, yet colorful, sometimes messy, sometimes sentimental. They are like life itself.'

So often, it's a singular image that draws me to a photographer's work.  Although it was one specific shot that led to my featuring this series of Michael, it was a sequence of images that inspired me to reach out to Jason from Pace Photography.  There's a risk when using just one shot as a basis for a feature.  Occasionally, that one image is anomaly, the best, or only decent shoot from a shoot.

That's why I loved the sequence of shots that Jason used to showcase his models in his Model Mayhem portfolio. The Calgary based photographer featured each model with a series of different images and looks showcasing portrait, fashion and fitness and implied nudes.  It gave me a more complete story of both the shoot, and the way Jason see's and photographs the male form.  This sequence of shots, almost of a storyboard of the shoot and series, is something that comes natural to the artist who has a background in both theatre, and animation design.

Jason's journey into the visual arts began in college, mostly self taught.  Being gay, Jason used the arts as a form of expression, something crucial when he was closeted and living in Singapore, Vietnam and Philadelphia.  After a few years of shooting locations and landscapes, Jason began capturing people, initially with a focus on fashion and actor portraits.   It was only after ten years of practicing and honing his skills that he decided to shoot nudes and boudoir themed imagery.

Jason carefully prepares for each shoot, asking the model he's working with a ton of questions.  Jason's goal is to utilize his craft to not only capture the male form, but to utilize that form to say something more about his subjects and beyond just the physical presence in front of his lens.  In addition to getting to know his subject, Jason additionally prepares by running through concepts and themes, and even sometimes storyboarding the story and shot list.  Not only does this help keep focus, it also lets his model knows exactly what is expected, ensuring they're fully on board and comfortable throughout the process.

This careful planning certainly helped in Jason's work with Michael.  Time was limited and the entire process took place in just an hour and a half.  Michael reached out to Jason while traveling in North America.  He was looking for a local photographer who might be able to shoot him during a short stay an an area Airbnb.  It all happened rather quickly, with Jason swinging by the the apartment late in the day for a quick shoot.  There's was only time for a quick chat before Jason had to start clicking away.

The Airbnb happened to have the iconic shot of Marilyn Monroe on the wall, and Jason especially loved how Michael interacted with the artwork, creating some of his favorite shots from the shoot.  It also helped Michael open up a bit as he became more playful and free as the shoot went on and after they'd finished shooting.  Although I love the shots with the Marilyn image, my favorite shot, and the image that had me asking Jason about featuring his work with Michael, was the image below. I love the pose and the angle Jason shot from.  I love the expression on Michael's face, and the intensity in his eyes.  I especially love the splash of red, with Michael's Andrew Christian's so strategically placed.

The unrest over social injustice and racism is serious business, and I hesitated, (briefly) with posting images of hot, shirtless protesters.  But... as strongly as I support Black Lives Matter, and the protests, this is after all, Favorite Hunks....

I don't want want to imply the protests were in anyway a party, they were not.  Despite a wedding, and some protesters, mostly white women, dressing as if they were going to the Met Ball, the protests are part of a long overdue change and a powerful turn with how race and racism is viewed and accepted.  They are however, in many ways a celebration, the kind that only is possible when people have had enough.

Although most of the masks stayed on, given the heat, some of the shirts came off.  People of every age, race, gender, body type and from all walks of life.  Seeing an image (first image at top) of former felon turned model Jeremy Meeks had me on the hunt for other images of other proud and passionate protesters.

'A group of boys prepares for what is going to be the summer of their life, between secrets, lies, flirting, sex, confusion and revelry. Most are not aware that once this initiatory journey has been undertaken, there is no going back and that lying, as it grows, can have dire consequences.'

Although there have been some powerful American gay themed films, my introduction to gay cinema, and some of my favorites, were usually foreign films.   In part, when Blockbuster was around, they were easier to find.  The foreign section often had more gay themed flicks than the entire rest of the store.

They were also 'safer' to rent, especially when still in the closet, or when living in a small rural town.  Although I'm sure the salesperson behind the desk knew, with the title not in English, one could pretend they were renting high brown foreign fare like 'Pride and Prejudice' .  Even Golpealo en el trasero (Bang him in the Butt) sounds classier in Spanish...

Although I have no issue with sub-titles, I don't think I used, nor needed them when I first saw 2009's Mentiras y gordas .(Sex, Party and Lies)  The visuals were so beautiful, and told the story so well, I understood exactly what was happening, without fully understanding the specific words.  I should watch again however, with the subtitles, but the main cast are completely watchable whether they're on or off.

Although Yon's frontal was certainly a highlight, my favorite nude scene of Yon's from the film was the scene below.  I loved how while having sex, even when interrupted by two of his friends with questions, Yon's character Rico, never misses a beat, and continues on as if his friends interruption was no big deal.  All in a days work...

Of course the threesome scene was a highlight, and a turning point in the relationship between Tony and Rico.  Although the female may have been the intended focus, when Tony and Rico's lips come together, everything stops, and everything changes.
