Gold Coins, Green Beer & A Civil Serpent: Patrick by Lights On Studio

'My mother is Irish, and she instilled an interest in Irish culture with stories of her ancestors.  I studied Irish dance for 7 years, which I excelled in competitively. and can also play the Tin Whistle, an Irish instrument similar to a recorder'

Most of us in North America, have a fairly limited knowledge based about most other cultures.  Sure, we celebrate St. Patrick's Day with shamrocks and green beer, but for many of us, when it comes to Irish culture, that's about it.  My mother used to make corned beef and cabbage every St. Paddy's day, but I recently learned the traditional Irish dish was actually boiled bacon, not corned beef.  For this reason, for this March 17th, Lights on Studio's Tom Nakielski decided that for this year's shoot, he wanted a model with an authentic Irish background.

Some of you might remember Patrick Morgan from a previous piece featuring his work with Tom.  Patrick helped celebrate another holiday by popping the cork back in 2018 to help celebrate New Year's Eve. (Stroke of Midnight)  Today, Patrick puts down his champagne, and picks up a green beer to toast to good times, happiness and the luck of the Irish!

This shoot actually happened awhile ago.  Tom had planned a St. Paddy's Day shoot for 2019, but encountered scheduling issues with the model involved.  Last year, the onset of the pandemic, meant having to cancel his scheduled shoot with Patrick.  When things finally began to settle however, Patrick and Tom were able to get together and Tom shot with Patrick last fall.

While on a forced modeling break due to Covid, Patrick used his down time to learn new skills.  Patrick first picked up baking, but then as the pandemic went on, moved back to a focus on fitness. Like so many of us, after baking comes the fight to work off all the carbs from the loaves of soar dough bread and banana bread.  Patrick was anxious to get back into the studio, especially for another shoot with Tom.

'Photo sessions with Tom are always fun and engaging. He often has a lot of ideas on what he wants to do, but he is very good at taking notice of small moments that look just right and capturing the image. '

In addition to tapping into Patrick's Irish culture, and his Irish jig moves, Tom also wanted to bring in more themes for the holiday.  Due to the pandemic, the regular costume and prop store Tom usually uses for his themed shoots was closed.  This forced the Michigan based photographer to get creative and use what he had on hand.

'Keeping with the Irish theme I had green beer and suspenders. Also had a hat and a Irish themed sleeve. Then I used some silk scarf's with Irish imprinting on them. This allowed me to get a little more skin in the photos. I had some gold coins that I wanted to put to use. One idea was to have him stuff his underwear with the coins and let them spring out, hitting the jackpot! Pot of gold at the end of the rainbow'

In addition to green beer and gold coins, there was another bit if Irish culture, well... more Irish mythology that Tom wanted to incorporate.   Ireland has no indigenous snakes. and there is ancient Irish myth that St. Patrick banished them into the sea to protect the pilgrims from harm or death.  Now, I'd never heard this myth before and was a little suspect.  I think Tom suspected I was questioning the story and sent me a long a few links to stories about the myth.  I actually didn't care, I liked the images, and the story.  I also wanted to make sure to have images of Patrick's perky posterior to add to the piece!

'Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter. Lullabies, dreams and love ever after.'

Forgot to wear green on St. Patty’s Day? Don’t be surprised if you get pinched....  Wearing green didn't actually originate with Ireland,  or with St. Patrick.  .  Wearing green is actually an American tradition that started sometime the early 1700s.  Only in America would March 17th begin the tradition of dying a river green....

Of course green makes sense.  In addition to being one of the colors of the Irish tri-colored flag, it's also connected to the lush green landscape of the Emerald Isle.  Green is also the color of spring, and of shamrocks.  Shamrocks are those tiny sprigs of clover that most lawn owners, except maybe on March 17th, consider annoying weeds..   There's another reason however that people wear green, and sprinkle themselves with green pixie dust.

' St. Patrick’s revelers thought wearing green made one invisible to leprechauns, fairy creatures who would pinch anyone they could see (anyone not wearing green or covered in pixie dust). People began pinching those who didn’t wear green as a reminder that leprechauns would sneak up and pinch green-abstainers.'

I first saw an image from this series about eight years ago. Jaybee from Frisky Frolic is one of my favorite artists, and I featured the single image back in 2014. I always wondered if there were more from Jaybee's protective pixie dust shoot.  As you can see, there were.  Now, I can't guarantee sprinkling your naked body with green pixie dust will keep you from getting pinched, in fact I fear just the opposite would be true.  Seems more like a  Leprechauns lure to me.

Saint Patrick was a gentlemen.
Who, through strategy and stealth,
Drove all the snakes from Ireland--
Here's a bumper to his health,
But not too many bumpers,
Less we lose ourselves and then
Forget the good St. Patrick,
And see the snakes again!

What's The Worst That Can Happen? Mattidude by StudioMGphotography

'What a great day this was; from the first shot to the last it was over 10 hours of exploring, collaborating and getting creative! Matt remained enthusiastic through it all with an awesome attitude matched perfectly with that awe-inspiring physique!'

I'm always excited when I see an e-mail with images from Mark from StudioMGphotography.  Sure, I know I'm going to see images of a hot naked male model, but that's just the starting point.  Mark's images and stories always take me on a journey.  An erotic escape full of risks and adventure.  All my favorite artists share visual experiences, but Mark's visuals have viewers edging toward jeopardy and exposure.  It can be an exciting ride.

All location shoots come with a degree of risk.  The risk is usually contained however, to being uncovered by uninvited sets of eyes. In Mark's work, there' something more, an added erotic intensity through the taking of physical risks, especially when completely nude.  Whether it's leaping through the air in abandoned buildings, balancing on rusty poles, scaling walls, hanging from the rafters or posing on the side of a cliff.  As a viewer, I love the hit of adrenaline Mark's images so frequently provide.

This particular adventure started on Instagram.  Matt, (Mattidude) hit Mark up about a shoot.  Some FH viewers might remember from his previous appearances on the site with his holiday work with PhotoRSH. (HERE: & HERE:) Mark replied back with interest, but given they lived 3,000 miles apart, didn't expect it would really go anywhere, especially during a pandemic.  To Mark's surprise, Matt promptly booked a flight to visit friends in San Francisco, and to provide an opportunity for them to shoot.

'This would be anything but my regular shoot (if there even is such a thing). To begin with it’s still the thick of the Covid-19 pandemic and I’ve pretty much been on hiatus. Covid precautions impact everything, from transportation to accommodations, meals and shoot locations. While planning every step of the way Matt agreed with, and embraced, my precautions.'

'When we were first planning I asked a couple of times what his goals were and he would just say “art.” I can do that! '

Matt planned on staying in San Francisco for a week to visit his friend and work on his latest musical album.  The plan was to rent a car and rive up to Santa Cruz to collaborate with Mark.  Matt also shared that he always wanted some surf board images.  Mark was worried that given it would take Matt over 90 minutes to drive to his location, the beaches would be full of people by the time they started to shoot.  This didn't phase Matt in the least who said he'd be there and ready to shoot at sunrise.

'We met before sunrise (he was nearly 45 minutes early to our meeting point!) and drove north to a deserted beach. We had already been shooting for 15 minutes before the first golden rays of sunlight hit the beach! He loved that the borrowed surfboard was blue – his favorite color. After the surf shots we returned to the cars parked above the beach on the road shoulder. There was a lagoon between the road and the beach and we decided to work with the reflections there a bit. Next thing I know he’s buck naked on the side of the road changing out of the wetsuit and into pants… a couple of passing cars were treated to a lovely view of the quintessential changing surfer, who wasn’t even trying to do a towel dance!'

The surf shots and passing cars all occurred before 9am and were just the start of the day's adventures. After leaving the lagoon, Mark and Matt headed back out towards the shoreline for some clothed shots with some driftwood.  From there, it was an hour drive to their next stop at an old military base that Mark loves to shoot at.  It had been seven months since Mark had last been there and entire neighborhoods of barracks had been demolished and removed.  They did find a great old building with a front door hanging open. Some of my favorite shots from this shoot are from this location. One of my favorite stories from the shoot, involved an adventure that sadly didn't result in any images.  I loved the story though and still wanted to share.

'We came across a horse stable and boarding facility. Matt was eager to pose on a horse. I said I’d be happy to shoot it, but how would we make it happen? Matt walked up to the closest person and asked her if he could pose on her horse. She said yes, but was about to start a lesson so it would be 90ish minutes until her and her horse were free. Another car arrived and before I knew it Matt and the driver were talking about dogs and horses, and she too said sure to letting him pose on a horse, after a lesson.

By now everyone seemed to know what was up and a disembodied male voice boomed out of the office saying “If he’s going to sit on a horse he has to sign a release!" Ultimately we gave up on the horses because of the time delay, but it almost happened. Matt’s attitude is “What’s the worst that can happen other than they say no” – I can’t argue with that logic. '

After a quick, and socially distanced, patio lunch, Mark drove Matt to his house where a multitude of shooting location awaited. They began shooting around the pool, then in the apple orchard.  They then checked out the surrounding redwood forest, shooting in a “fairy ring” amid the trees. They wrapped their over 10 hours of shooting close to sunset, taking some shots at a Jacuzzi high on the hills above the house.  Although they were both tired, Matt had one more adventure on his mind, one last shoot to culminate the day.

'My shoots are always collaborations and during the course of the day Matt had tossed out suggestions or made requests. A couple of times he wanted something more erotic for his OnlyFans page. By the time we were shooting at the Jacuzzi, it was the golden hour.  The light was wonderful, and temperatures haven’t yet begun to drop.

Matt asked me to video a series of short exercise sequences; push ups, pull ups, crunches, jumps, lunges… all of course while he’s nude. After seeing the intensity of his work out I can understand how he came by that incredibly sculpted physique! After the workout videos, he moved back to the Jacuzzi for a hot jerk off session… All the video work, and what came after, is saved for Matt’s OnlyFans page, and I assure you it’s worth checking out!! A few years ago, I did a piece featuring the cast of The Goldbergs. (HERE:)  My interest in the show has sort of diminished, the episodes are all the same.  Mom interferes, kids get mad, then they make up in a moment you know will be repeated week after week.  I do however still love me some of the adorable Sam Lerner.  When I featured Sam before, I didn't have much 'skin' to share. Recently however, he does seem to like to flashing his ass crack every now and then in his Instagram stories...

'Just a chef who loves puppies, traveling & romantic walks to the fridge.'
Ronnie Woo

A chef who loves puppies, who could ask for more!  As a bonus, this hot chef used to be a male model before navigating a detour in his career.  Although it may seem a 180 from modeling, cooking has been a passion for Ronnie Woo, and always something he knew he wanted as his career.  With his beautiful face, and incredible body, it's fits that he hosts a cooking show titled 'Food To Get You Laid.'

Does cooking shirtless make your food taste better?
(Laughs) That really depends on who you are cooking for! Generally speaking, I wouldn’t advise it because it puts your skin at risk for oil splatter and health code violations!

'Autumn arrives in the early morning, but spring at the close of a winter day.'
Elizabeth Bowen

I love spring, but to be honest it comes forth on my list of favorite seasons.  Autumn has always been my favorite season.  Even when I was young, I saw Autumn as a time for beginnings, for fresh starts, for trying new things.  It probably has to do with the start of school.  When I was really young, we lived in a rural area.  Close to the city, but not close enough to get there without a drive from my parents. I look forward to school starting in September to get back to school, back to sports and activities and back to my friends.

Following this logic, winter was, and continues to be my second favorite season.  Although many hibernate, it continues to be the season I am most active.  I get invigorated by the cold and enjoy winter activities especially skiing.  I also love to nest in the evening, something you can do guilt free when it cold and snowy outside.

My third favorite season would be summer.  I love the warmth of the summer sun, a beach day, the crickets chirping each evening at dusk.  I love reading on my porch in the morning and drinking a glass of wine on it at night.  Summer is also so short where I live, two months tops.  Just as the heat is starting to get to you, the nights start to get colder, and Autumn is just around the corner.

nkd.dan

That leaves spring, a season I like, but definitely forth on my list. Francis of Assisi said of spring that, A single sunbeam s enough to drive away many shadows.  To me however, it's the shadows that really support the sun in creating depth and true beauty.  Without the shadows, the summer sun can burn, and cause obstructions to clear views.  We use sunglasses and our hands to block the sun from us seeing clearly.  The greatest views may be well lit, but that light also needs to be directed by darkness and shadow.

With winter no technically over, it's time to purge the 'winter' section of my 'seasonal sightings' folder.  Finding images of naked male models brave enough to bare chill of winter and snow has often been difficult.  The year however, I found more images that I could use. Maybe it's just a coincidence, or that more and more people are taking images with their cameras.  I think in part however, it had a little to do with the pandemic.

Getting outside, regardless of the season, became more important than ever.  Last winter, I think we all paused and really thought about our time beyond the safety of our homes.  This past winter, a year of trying to remain mostly inside had us swinging open those doors and windows, even with the chill of winter still in the air.

Blast from the Past: Perry Lang

Actor Perry Lang got his start on television in the late 1979's on shows like The Fitzpatrick's, James at 15 and in ABC Afterschool Specials.  Quickly, Lang transitioned to feature films making his film debut in 1978's Big Wednesday.  Over the next decade plus, Lang appeared in over twenty films, including well known titles like Jennifer 8, The Big Red One and Eight Men Out.

Bay City Blues (1983)

During the eighties, in addition to a short stint on the television show Bay City Blues, (with Dennis Franz and Sharon Stone) Lang appeared in a string of teen coming of age films.  Some of the titles Teen Lust, Spring Break and Jocks) are indelibly linked with the genre during the time period.  When I came upon the title Teen Lust, I had to check it out to see if there was any male nudity.  With a title like that, there had to be something....

Teen Lust (1978)

'Two sexy young women move into a sleepy suburb and before long, every man in the vicinity falls for their charms.'

Although there was a fair share of 'lust' in the film, the bulk of the nudity came from the female cast members.  This wasn't really that strange, with the exception of a few films, like Porky's, it was rare to see the male cast members remove their clothing the way their female counterparts were expected to do. The only male nudity in Teen Lust, was just a flash of butt from the jock strap wearing Terry, played by Perry Lang.

Five years after Teen Lust, Lang went on to flash his cute little butt again, this time in 1983's Spring Break.  Just like Teen Lust, the few seconds of Lang's bute bum was the only scene in the movie featuring male skin.  We did however, get a hot shot of actor Paul Land in his tight black briefs.  That almost made up for it....

Spring Break (1983)

'Two sets of two college guys spend a spring break together in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There they have lots of fun in and out of the sun.'

Above:Actors  Paul Land, David Knell, Lang and Steve Bassett

So many actors and actress in teen sex comedies seemed to get pigeon holed, and many seemed almost stuck in the genre.  If look back at some of the biggest sex comedies of the eighties and nineties, so many of the actors have disappeared.  When Lang's acting career began to slow down in the nineties, he skillfully transitioned to a career behind the camera, writing, producing and directing.

Lang's time in teen teen comedies may have helped in his role as a director of young talent. Lang directed famous teen and young adult actors on television shows including; Jack & Bobby, North Shore, One Tree Hill, Everwood, Young Americans, Gilmore Girls and Dawson's Creek.  Lang also directed episodes of ER, Alias, Medium, Nash Bridges, NYPD Blue and Weeds.  Lang most recently directed the 2018 feature film An Interview with God starring  David Strathairn and Brenton Thwaites.

'Here to bring you your wildest and horniest fantasies...'

I certainly had a few fantasies the first time I saw images of adult film performer Beauxx Valkyrie.  They shots were the two shower images at the bottom of this piece.  I loved everything about Beauxx and the shots, especially how he was staring so seductively into the camera.  I instantly went on an image search to find out who was behind the incredibly body and those beautiful eyes.

The search led me to Beauxx's Twitter where Beau describes himself as a cowboy-bodybuilder who loves to dance.  He also loves to role play with Captain America gear.  I spent some quality time on Beauxx's feed for research of course, and to find my favorite images to include in this piece.

Seaside Circus: Stephane Haffner and Kyle Kier by John Falocco

'The story began in 1998 on the streets of Paris....'

I've always been fascinated with the circus.  As a kid, my mother used to pay babysitters to take me.  Neither she, or my father, had any interest in attending, but they knew how much I wanted to go.  They had to know, I started begging, bugging and pleading from the first moment I saw the posters and ads in the paper.  The circus blends elements of theatre and live productions, with  incredible visuals, rich colors, not to mention the unique smells. The elements of danger and risk with fit bodies and athleticism are tailored to trigger and tempt the willing imagination.

I love when I get to weave elements of circus onto the site.  Over the years I've been lucky to feature many circus performers from clowns, jugglers, aerialists and acrobats. (HERE:)  I've often written about the connection that dancers to have to their bodies, and the nexus the connection has to modeling and art.  The same principal applies to acrobats and aerialists.  Performance artists not only know their bodies intimately, but also how to express, and present their artistry in a visually breath taking way.

I first introduced FH readers to artist and acrobat Stephane Haffner last year. (A Fascinating New World)  In that piece, featuring images from Anthony Timiraos, I chronicled Stephane's journey from gymnastics to circus and his decision to begin modeling and eventually start an OnlyFans page.  Stephane describes his page as an artistic expression of sexy, sensual, kinky and dirty.  A place where flexibility combines with the homo-erotic.

Stephane and brother Alexandre began their circus journey in Paris in 1998. By combining their multiple talents, they formed Les Faradais,, their own unique and new brand of circus.   In 2016, Stephane, along with husband Kyle Kier conceived and developed their own production of Les Faradais with an LGBT focus.  The circus themed AirOtic combines muscular and well-defined bodies with impossibly lithe and sensuously graceful aerial movements. When paired up, Stephane and Kyle interact tenderly and sensually while exuding the strength, fitness and agility of world class athleticism.

The show is a sexy and sensual burlesque style circus cabaret company comprises visual beauty with an atmosphere of fantasy and a series of seemingly effortless acrobatic feats. Creator Stephane  has an idiosyncratic aesthetic.Franco-Italian, Stephane practiced high level gymnastics from the age of 6 to 17. Followed by a double training in fashion design and at the circus school, he developed the creation of using the technique of fabric and flexibility. The choreography is well modulated and paced, impressive, without being showy. The costumes are sci-fi spandex, incorporating roller derby grit and figure skating glitter, and the suggestions and glimpses of nudity are never vulgar.

Kyle Kier also began his circus journey via gymnastics.  The US champion gymnast also excelled at competition diving. Growing up, Kyle was also drawn to the theatrical arts. The New York native began his professional performance career in 2009, joining the cast of Metropolis Productions at Walt Disney World. It was in 2013, that Kyle was scouted to join the the  company of Les Farfadais. Kyle now preforms internationally with Les Farfadais as well as choreographs, directs, and manages their social media

When I last featured the work of photographer John Falocco, I featured his work with dancer Bo Pressley. (Classical Lines) I was struck by how John was able to capture so much of the grace, beauty and energy of Bo's dance moves within the four walls of his studio.  For this shoot on the beach, there are no walls or boundaries to suppress or restrain Stephane and Kyle's erotic energy. With the sun as their spotlight, their bodies and poses match the magnificence of their surroundings.

Like most live performances, AirOtic came to a screeching halt when the pandemic began.  The show is back now, providing a socially distanced night out featuring unique cocktails and burlesque style entertainment exclusively at the newly renovated HUNTERS nightclub in Wilton Manors FL.  If you're in the area, join Stephane and Kyle and check out future performance dates on the AirOtic website HERE:

'You think about it all the time--- and so does she...''

Although 'coming of age' movies have always been a Hollywood staple, there was something unique about the teen sex comedies from the seventies and eighties.  They were mostly promoted to the young, horney male movie goers, meaning the nudity, came mostly came from the female cast members.  There were however, a few memorable exceptions.

When I was recently researching another post, I came across the poster for the 1978 teen sex comedy Teen Lust.  The poster, with a female character spying on a male character in the shower, had me thinking there had to be some male nudity that I could find and share.  No such luck.  With the exception of a brief flash of an actor in a jock strap, the nudity was all from women.  I did however, IMDB that butt in the jockstrap and learned about an actor who starred in a string of teen comedies in the seventies and eighties.  In most of them, his butt was the only male nudity to be found.  Check more about him on THE NEXT PAGE HERE:
