'The Oscars are about the dynamics of that moment, of that season. It reflects what's been going on in the world every year through the movies. And a lot of times, what's popular at the movies is popular because of what's going on in the world at that moment. '
Bruce Vilanch

I've been doing Academy Award themed posts on FH for over a decade now.  In the past, they've usually consisted of my looking for scenes of male skin from the male nominee's.  Although I did this again, (on the next page) this year seemed do demand I do something a little different...

With the pandemic dominating 2020, no one was going to the movies.  This is the first year ever, I didn't see any of the nominated films or performances in a theatre.  In fact, with the exception of  Promising Young Woman, I haven't seen any film, or any of the nominated performances.  When the pandemic began last year, and many people on lockdown, so many of us turned to entertainment as a diversion.  I know I certainly did, and dove in and binged television shows and documentaries that I most likely would not have if not for lockdown.

I didn't however, dive into movies.  I was looking for mindless entertainment, things that made me smile or laugh.  I found it difficult to commit to a two hour movie, especially a serious drama.  Sure I watched the odd film, but it was usually a old Hitchcock film that I'd seen before, or something mindless I didn't have to concentrate or focus too much energy on.

I also remember searching for a few new releases on my On Demand.  I remember at one point wanting to watch The Hunt.  I checked it out and found it cost twenty bucks to watch.  Although I understood it was a 'theatrical release' without a theatre to release it, but I resisted paying twenty bucks for an on demand movie.  I have too many memories of renting movies from Blockbuster, only to either not have time to watch them, or having started them, only to turn them off from a lack of interest after watching only a few minutes.

Given I'd seen so little that came out this year, I went into this years Oscar themed posts with almost little to no interest.  I wasn't interested in the movies, and most likely won't even watch the ceremonies this year.  But... for some odd reason, this intensified my desire to something a little special this year.  My Oscar themed posts don't just stem from my love of the movies, but my memories of the excitement I felt every Oscar weekend.  I remember as a kid how the anticipation would grow as the Oscars approached.  Many years back then, I also didn't see any, or much of the nominated films.  It's didn't diminish my love of the show.

I used to bug my parents to stay up late to watch, it was always on a Sunday night and they argued that it was a school night.  They usually gave in.  I loved the glamour of the show, Billy Crystal's opening songs, seeing who was presenting, and especially the big production numbers of the nominated songs.  I was never really into the red carpet or the fashion, for me it was all about the magic of the movies.  Hollywood seemed so far away, and the Oscars were my connection to a world, and a life, I could only fantasize about.

So, in addition to my usual undressing of the nominee's, I decided to reach out to Jim from Studio1x to see if he might have anything in his archives that was even remotely 'Oscar' related.  I didn't really want to ask about asking about a new shoot, as it was already well into April, and the Oscars were just a few weeks away.  Thankfully Jim had some ideas!  Not only did he suggest the shoot with Dom and Kings, he had another shoot lined up, this time with Alex and Kince.  He thought they'd be perfect for an Oscar themed shoot, and was sure they'd be up for including it in there already scheduled shoot.

Jim was right!  I love the 'Old Hollywood' feel to the shoot, and how they morphed into their roles of Oscar nominated Producer and Director.  Jim shares that their energy was amazing, and you can feel their enthusiasm and fun in this series of images.  Alex and Kince had only just met for the first time for the shoot, but you can see how they connected and worked off one another so creatively during the shoot.  Jim works with a lot of couples, and loves when models connect, get into the theme, and let loose like Alex and Kince did during their Academy Award themed shoot.

1963's The Prize didn't win Newman, or the film, any awards, but it did have some outtakes of Newman in his-tighty whities.  Newman didn't actually appear on screen in his undies, the images appear either from rehearsal, promotional shots, or the scene was edited from the original film.

When I started to put together my 'skin baring' posts featuring this years 🎥 Oscar nominee's, I realized that I actually had seen only one of the films nominated.  I thought of a year I headed to the movies almost every single weekend, and that year was 1991.

Getting Serious: Paul by mickeyarny

'Each person had his own story to share with me while I was take their pictures.'

It was a single image that first drew me to the work of Thailand based photographer mickeyarny.  Beyond the beautiful men in Mickey's images however, I've equally enjoyed diving into the stories behind them.  Many of you may remember meeting Jay, the model in the first series of Mickey's work that I featured this past February. (Pandemically Inclined)

Jay had it all, beautiful face and eyes, a winning smile, great body and hair and a natural in front of the camera.  Given how professional Mickey's images were, I was surprised when Mickey shared that Jay was the first male model that he had shot.  As an artist and filmmaker Mickey was experienced behind the camera, but until the pandemic, it was a video camera.  With productions shut down in Thailand, Mickey decided it was time to pursue another of his artist passions.

After posting an ad looking for models, he met Jay, the hot backpacker traveling through Asian on the hunt for odd jobs to allow him to continue his travels and adventures.   Jay was the perfect first model for Mickey to work with and was totally on board with posing while Micky experiment, work and hone  his new artistic endeavour.

Mickey's second model was also traveling through Asia.  Over the years of working on FH, I've learned that many models begin their careers in Asia, and Paul was in South East Asia to gamble at taking a shot at modeling and acting.  Paul had actually heard great stories about Mickey from Jay.  The two wanderers had actually crossed paths while staying at the same hostel.  It was during this period of time when the pandemic began.  Jay soon hit the road to continue his travels, but Paul decided to stay put, and see what work might be found.

Paul was impressed with the images Mickey created with Jay and contacted him about doing a nudes to add to his portfolio.  After a quick glance at his resume, Mickey knew Paul had modeled extensively before, and was impressed with the headshots included in his portfolio.  Given he'd just started shooting, Mickey was both thrilled, and a little nervous, that a professional model wanted to participate in what was Mickey's exciting, but still new hobby.

Mickey asked Paul why he choose him, and made sure to let him know how new and inexperienced he was with shooting models.  Paul simply responded that he valued Jay's opinion and that if Jay valued and trusted Mickey, that was good enough for him.

'Paul gave me a feeling that I was watching a play on stage which I had to be quick on my feet to snap his pictures before he changed the pose. Paul knew how to work with his cloth and objects in front of him..

Paul's face grins and could not stop smiling at me. His innocent face was contradicted with his muscular body. "Maybe, you should stop smiling." I said. Paul's face went straight from a baby smile to a serious face within a second.  He then asked if he should pull his foreskin back.  I didn't really know what to say except 'No, we're not doing porn!'

Although new to shooting nudes, Paul was a seasoned model and Mickey found it challenging.  Paul knew exactly what to do, and how to do it and Mickey still found himself in the role of student, learning how to properly use his camera.  Like Jay before him, Paul enjoyed shooting with Micky and images that resulted from the shoot.  They later met up with Paul's girlfriend at a local restaurant.  Although Paul was serious and professional throughout their shoot, Mickey noticed a young and playful side that came out when interacting with his girlfriend.  It was a side not captured during their first shoot, so Micky suggested a second shoot with the goal of capturing this facet of Paul's personality.

Almost a year after Thailand first shut down, and Mickey began his new adventure, he's still meeting and shooting male models.  He took a break for awhile, focused on taking photography classes and getting back to the gym.  Mickey has also returned to his full time work as a videographer as much of Thailand began to open up again this past January.  Mickey still shoots male models when he can, and continues to run into new models who both knew Jay, and heard good things about his work with Mickey.   You can see much more of Mickey's work on his new Patreon page, Lock Down With Mickey HERE:

Favorite Click of the Week: Paul Forman in Frank of Ireland

I had never heard of the Irish comedy Frank of Ireland, until recently seeing some caps posted on the DC forum. Thanks to poster bgebgd, I was on the hunt to learn more about the series, and the actor behind that perfect ass in the bathroom.

A quick search led me to Casperfan, one of my favorite places to find great clips and caps. Casperfan featured the actor and caps, as well as providing a clip of the scene. The actor playing Stéphane, the stranger peeing in the bathroom, is played by the delicious Paul Forman, who as you can clearly see these images, is also a  model.

Frank of Ireland was created by Michael Moloney along with brothers Brian and Domhnall Gleeson.  Many of you are familiar with Domhnall from his many film roles, including his turn as General Armitage Hux in the most recent Star Wars films.  I first noticed the Irish actor in the 2012 romantic comedy About Time and featured him on the site HERE:   Although usually associated with dramatic roles, Domhnall plays a character named Doofus in the comedy series.  If you want to check out the first season of the series, it's currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

'An avid explorer of life. Just a man and his dogs against the world. Human first. My goal is to make the field of medicine relatable, understandable, and fun!'

No one really likes going to the doctor, especially during a pandemic, but New York physician Mike Varshavski might have you wanting to book an appointment.  With those beautiful dreamy eyes, taking a deep breath when Dr. Mike pulls out his stethoscope would not be a problem...  Dr. Mike looks great with his shirt off, but I think he's at his hottest in his blue scrubs.

'Saying nothing sometimes says the most.'
Emily Dickinson

Although I was inspired, and considered writing a poem as an ode to Ash's ass, I decided it was best to leave the poetry to Emily Dickinson. For the studio part of Ash's shoot I'll let Andrew Bowman's images, and Ash's ass in his 2EROS jock, do the talking.

Paul Telfer in Mile High

Mile High is a British television drama based on the lives of the cabin crew members of Fresh!, a budget airline based in London.  Given the title, it's clear they're referencing the mile high club and sex is a central theme.  Given this, I can't think of a better guest star than sex on a stick himself, actor Paul Telfer.

Although I don't watch Days of Our Lives on a regular basis, I'm certainly aware of Paul's incredible chest, and catch clips of his shirtless scenes when I see them on-line.  Although Paul's chest was sadly shaved for his role on Mile High, he sex appeal was not dimmed in the slightest.

I'd seen caps of Paul's stripping scene before, but not a clear copy of the scene itself.  Thanks to xyzpdq however, I've finally done so!  Although I'm 99% sure the frontal is not Paul's pecker, the rest of him looks fully intact.

' Bi dude with a big dick who likes to party and throw around weights'

My favorite shirt is blue long sleeved dressed shirt.  It fit perfectly and is just the right length. I always seemed to have just a bit more confidence on the day that I wore it. I'm not generally superstitious, but always made sure that shirt was washed and ready whenever I had an important meeting or event to attend.

That shirt is still in my closet.  It's now so thin that you can practically see through it.  I can't really wear it out or to work any longer, but I still wear it at home, and when I'm doing work outside.  As you can clearly see from this series of images, JockCollegeBro also has a favorite shirt, one he especially likes to throw on when working and taking selfies.

It's easy to see why JockCollegeBro loves this particular work out shirt.  It looks hot and covers, yet at the same time, shows off his incredible body.  It's message also makes it clear he's having fun and matches the energy and personality he exudes in his images.

The Clumps: Ash by Andrew Bowman

'The Clumps have been the inspiration for poets and artists for many years.'

Although inspirational to me, the clumps in question are not Ash's incredibly sculped butt cheeks.  The clumps described in the quote refer to the Wittenham Clumps, one of South Oxfordshire’s most iconic landmarks.  Standing proudly beside the Thames. the Clumps offer stunning views over the surrounding countryside and are the most highly visited free to access greenspace in the region.

I would argue that Ash's ass offers equally stunning views, and although I'm not sure how often they are visited, I know they've been photographed by several of my favorite photographers.  Most FH viewers are familiar with Ash through his work with photographer Mark Leighton.  I've been fortunate to have been able to feature Mark's work with Ash several times over the years. (HERE:) It was also through Mark's work that Andrew also discovered Ash and connected with him for a shoot.

Last fall, I began compiling a list of models for my Baker's Dozen series. I was fairly confident that Ash was going to make the list.   Although I have featured Ash multiple times, starting back in 2016.  he didn't quite make the 7 post threshold required for the list.  I was reminded though, that in addition to his work with Mark, I'd seen images of Ash in Andrew Bowman's portfolio, and especially loved this series of Ash having fun with hanging from the huge tree branch.

When I contacted Andrew he was immediately on board, and generously offered to head back into his files and edit more images of Ash, images not yet released or seen before.  Andrew sent along dozens of images from their both studio work together, and their work at the clumps.  Ash traveled for their shoot, so they had time to shoot in the studio in the evening, then head out to the Wittenham Clumps the following day.

The name Wittenham Clumps come from the ‘clumps’ of beech trees which crown both hills; these are the oldest known planted hilltop beeches in England, dating back over 300 years.  The are is located only a few miles from Andrew and he often uses the location for outdoor shoots.  Given how popular the location is, especially for walkers, Andrew tries to schedule his shoots during the daytime hours.  Although he still may run into the odd nature walker, with kids still in school, there less likely to be large numbers of people around.

If you want to check out more of Ash, and his inspirational ass, check out some of Andrew's studio shots on THE NEXT PAGE HERE
