Married/Unmarried (2001)
We're often at our most comfortable when wearing only one piece. I know when I'm home, and have it all to myself, the only thing that I wear is a pair of boxer briefs. For some it's a warm bathrobe or a comfy pair of sweat pants, but we all have our 'go-to' piece of clothing that wear far too often, and for far too long. There's no need to mix and match or color coordinate, the only real criteria, is how it feels on your skin.
Some of my favorite shoots focused on the male form incorporate just one main piece of clothing. It's purpose isn't to cover, or to actually be worn. It's role in part is to provide a visual contrast between material and skin. It's also serves as a creative tool for the model and often stimulated unique looks and poses.
Last month, I featured images of Travis from photographer Bob Burkhardt. (Archivally Assessed) In that first piece, I focused on images of Travis and his tight red t-shirt. I loved how Travis used the shirt to spotlight and frame his incredible physique and the many creative looks that Bob was able to capture with just the one piece of clothing.
For this series, the one piece of clothing a grey hoodie. Although the grey isn't as eye-catching as the red, the hoodie works the same magic by providing Travis with the perfect item to help draw attention, an the viewers eye, too specific parts of his beautiful body.
As visually appealing as the one-piece of clothing can be, it also serves as way to reveal. Although Travis is nude while utilizing the hoodie, without it...he's naked. Although the difference is subtle, and no more is actually shown, there's a difference in feel with and without just that one-piece of clothing.
Again, like Joanna, my crush turned to full on lust after watching Jordan change his shirt after arriving to work on his bike. Bayer and actor Paul James are certainly highlights, but the cast is full of talented scene stealers. Molly Shannon and Jennifer Lewis are fantastic and actor Matt Rogers is hilarious as Patricia's (Lewis) assistant. If you haven't checked it out yet, and enjoy Bayer's unique and hilarious comedy style, the show is just four episodes in with the fifth coming this weekend.
He and the costume designer came to the back of the theatre to try on a costume. They stood about five feet from me and the guy playing Billy took off his jeans as if he was a lone and slipped on his costume. When he took off the costume, he stood there in just his baby blue briefs, waiting for stage hand to bring more costumes for him to try on. The stage hand was slow, giving me close to five minutes to enjoy the baby blue view.
I haven't done too many R.I.P posts the last few years. Between the sociopath in the White House, the pandemic, unrest and war, I wanted FH to be a break from daily stressors. This week, that is needed even more than ever. I did however want to note the passing of actor Ray Liotta.
Rarely the star, Liotta still managed to shine in almost every project and role he took on. I went to the movies at least once a week in the 90's and 2000's and it felt like Liotta was in almost every second or third movie I saw. I'm not sure when my crush began, it may have been in 1992's Unlawful Entry. According to those who knew him, Liotta often played against type. In real life, he is described as incredibly sweet and incredibly kind. R.I.P Mr. Liotta
I'm a little embarrassed to admit, but last week, I binged the first two and half episodes of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip. I didn't really intend to, most of the women on the show annoying the crap out of me. After half-watching the first episode, I found myself wanting to know more about Michael....
If anyone watched, Michael Churchill was the host, guide, concierge and ultimate hottie for the housewives at their resort. Michael is a man of many talents, including his regular gig as a DJ. Michael doesn't seem to want too much attention from his gig, and I'm curious how he ended up being the main man on the show.
He easily grabbed my attention, just as he did the women, especially those horny housewives from New York. Luanne never a let an opportunity to flirt go by, and had no issue flinging off her clothes to flash poor Michael. He rolled with the punches and managed to keep a smile on his face.
I remember crushing over actor Zach Tinker when he was on The Young and the Restless, (above) a few years ago. Sadly, the show didn't understand the hotness it had on it's hands and did next to nothing with the character. Thankfully, Days of our Lives seems more aware of Tinker's talents.
Thankfully Days re-cast the role of Sonny, bringing on an actor with a bit more range and a lot more sex appeal. Although I'm not currently watching the show, seeing a few shots of television icon Grant Tinker's grandson Zach in bed with Leo, (Greg Rikaart) grabbed my attention...
Anyone who has ever watched a soap knows that 'drugging' is common method for the bad girl to trap her man. Usually, the bad girl ends up pregnant, and the hero leaves his heroine to do right by his unborn child. It doesn't matter that the 'drugging' was actually a rape and that the baby, usually ends up not being the poor sod who put a ring on it.
Last week, as part of what appears to be a revenge plot, Leo drugged poor Leo and took him to bed. Now, as I said, I'm not watching, but I'm positive there was no sex involved. Although soaps have come a long way, I'm guessing they're not yet ready for a male rape story, outside of a prison story that is.
Looks like Leo's plot is just to cause Sonny some trouble and publish a story about their 'wild night together.' I'm guessing given Sonny's fairly decent reputation, that this won't go too far, but I'll have to check out the recaps this week to find out!

Back in 2016, I had the privilege to feature the work of photographer and former fashion designer Dominick Avellino. (A Layered Addition) Some might remember the talented artist for his successful sportwear line in the 70's and 80's under the name DD Dominick.
After the piece was published, we continued to communicate and were planning a follow-up spotlighting his work with the hot cowboy featured here. I thought of that follow-up earlier this year and e-mailed Dominick about the next piece. I didn't hear back and decided to try messaging him on Model Mayhem since that's where we first connected. I was saddened to read that Dominick left us in 2018. Happy Trails to the talented artist and hoping your resting easy.
