Flashed

Back in September when the new falls began their season premiere's. I predicted that The Flash was going to be one of the seasons hunkiest hours of television. Led by the shows lead, Grant Gustin the show has certainly lived up the title with a cast loaded with some of the hottest men from TV, including guest appearances by Arrow's Stephen Amell.

The past two episodes have really pulled out all the stops with addition of actor Greg Finley as Tony/Girder. I was not familiar with Greg's work, but he certainly made an impression and more than held his own battling Gustin's flash. Greg calls Grant the shows leader and was one of the nicest actors he has worked with. Girder has only been slotted for 2 episodes thus far, but I am thinking with the impact Greg made with the character, they will be bringing him back in a flash.

'Yes! And when we were shooting it, you kind of knew it was going to be pretty cool. We worked hard on the episode. The stunts and those action scenes, we worked really late nights. Sometimes you just know when it's going to be pretty badass and I can assure you this episode is going to be very badass, for sure'

Shuffle off to Buffalo: Christopher by Richard Rothstein

'I'll go home and get my panties
You go home and get your scanties
And away we'll go
Mmm-mmm-mmm
Off we're gonna shuffle
Shuffle off to Buffalo'

Al Dubin & Harry Warren
42nd Street  (1933)

I know there is nothing funny about the amount of snow dumped on Buffalo and it's surrounding areas. As someone who has been through more than a few huge snowfalls, and subsequent road, home and flooding issues, I feel for the people digging their way out.

I still can't help however, from having the lyrics to Shuffle Off To Buffalo run through my head whenever a story about all the snow comes on the news. I don't actually know the song, nor have I seen the movie it was written for, but this particular line of lyric I am familiar with due to it's use in other shows and movies. The phrase is often often used when someone is done. Finished with whatever is going on and ready to head home from the activity, function or party they are at. I am not sure anyone, except the national guard, is headed towards Buffalo and other area's in Upstate New York, most I think, would love to be heading in a more southern direction.

This set images from artist Richard Rothstein were not shot in Buffalo, but Manhattan, but their is a lyrical and expressive flow that sort of fits the occasion. Although Buffalonians might not yet be able to appreciate the grace of beauty of Richard's images of Christopher, but maybe once the risk and danger has subsided they will.

Dancer and circus performer Christopher creates such incredible lines and he clearly must have been freezing his cute behind off during this shoot. His red briefs, and the red within his ring, are a visually appealing contrast to the white that surrounds him.

Despite the frigid surroundings, Richard's images of Christopher would warm the hearts of anyone passing by. I always seem to think of those passing by when enjoying Richard's imagery. One can only imagine all of the Manhattan dwellers, sitting around their dinner tables or a restaurant after walking by one of Richard's shoots.

So many of them entertain their partners and family with stories about seeing a very hot Tarzan on the side walk, ballet dancers leaping on Step Streets, half naked dancers flying through central park, and or course, the adorable guy in his red undies doing the splits out in the snow. Those stories, those Manhattan stories, are a part of the reason I so love Richard's work.

Frisky Frolic: Pre-Holiday...

Holiday's on FH mean heading to the portfolio of JayBee from Frisky Frolic. It has become part of my holiday tradition on FH and I am never disappointed. The US celebrates Thanksgiving this Thursday but unlike Christmas and Halloween, Thanksgiving hasn't seemed to inspire as many images weaving the holiday with the male form. Aside from FlyFoto, I am not sure I have seen many Thanksgiving themed shoots.

That doesn't mean however I didn't find images worth celebrating, with Frisky Frolic that is never a problem. These two themes have been on my list for awhile to feature and I am thankful JayBee continues to be so generous supporting FH to feature his work. I love the simplicity of the first series. A model, a background to contrast with the colorful boxers and of course a great behind! JayBee knows how to take a simple concept and make it erotic, eye catching and just visually enjoyable to behold.

Dean throwing himself onto the bed has to be one of my favorite of JayBee's photo stories. The expression on Dean's face in the second photo, as he's coming in for a landing, is both perfect and priceless!

I posted last year about photographer TJ Scott and his work with the cast of Spartacus for his In The Tub Series. TJ is still hard at work on his coffee table book featuring his incredible series of celebrity photos with a new Kickstarter campaign to have the book available for your coffee tables next spring.

TJ recently managed to get Jonathan and Drew Scott (The Property Brothers) into the tub to help raise funds for Breast Cancer Research. Check out more of Drew's photo shoot in a short video clip on Vine below!

At The End Of The Day: Miguel by Mark Leighton

'That feeling, usually at the end of the day, work is done and you're home. Your shoes, and often your clothes, are off and on the floor, and you're free from the stresses of the day... Even if just temporarily, for the next eight, ten or twelve hours you're time is your. The sensation of both beautiful relaxation and erotic freedom.'

Miguel and photographer Mark Leighton first shot on the beaches of Portugal in October of last year, but got together again for this shoot at the beginning of this year. In most cases, the end of the day is the closure of the last 12-14 hrs, a cap to what was. With Miguel, in almost seems a beginning.

The tux may be off, but Miguel looks to still have the energy to squeeze a little more living out of the day. Belgian, with Indonesian roots, Miguel has a great look, especially his face with those great lips and beautiful eyes. The 20 year old student is new to modeling but is already passionate about pursuing it as a career.

Today's Import: Emilio von Sternerfels in Yo soy la felicidad de este mundo

If you regularly check out forms and sites specializing in caps from films you would have seen many pics from last years Yo soy la felicidad de este mundo (I Am Happiness on Earth). The film, from Mexican filmaker Julián Hernández Pére has the films main character Emiliano, played by Hugo Catalán looking at his life through the eyes of a film director.

I have not seen the film, just the many images (most via RESTITUDA!) but was enamored by actor Emilio von Sternerfels who plays Jazen. That face, those eyes and lips! As you can see, Emilio is also naked in much of the film. The film arrived in my latest package from Amazon, so once I have a chance to watch, I let you know if it is worth a look for story, beyond just the nakedness and imagery.

PG-13 Problem?

'I believe [the rating] was a horrible miscalculation on everyone’s part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I’m quite certain it won’t happen again.'

I am guessing it was because the movie stank, but Sly may just have a point... I would like to hope that diminished violence wouldn't turn audiences away but even though it is 2014, many in the world are tuned into TV violence and cruelty (especially on mainstream news). We sadly seem to relish watching the pain inflicted others just as humans did back in the Roman coliseums which suddenly doesn't seem that long ago.

Ken Bek: Worth Following!

Like many of you, I was first introduced to the ultra hot Ken Bek on the cover of Thomas Knight's Red Hot published this past September. Ken has such an engaging presence in front of the camera, it was crystal clear why Thomas chose him as the cover and to represent the book.

If you were as captivated with Ken as I, be sure to follow him on Instagram and Facebook. Ken shares tons of images, both from his modeling, and cadids including some of my favorites from his time on the beaches of The Similan Islands in southern Thailand.
